Before the El Camino was ready to roll, a few problems had to be dealt with. "Money was the biggest obstacle; still is," said Low. Tires were $400 a piece. There was also a fuel return problem. The possibility of rain could have postponed a race until the next month. If it had rained at all three events, Low and all other participants would have had to wait a year to compete. Now that Low and his High Performance Engine Class have made one world record, they have decided to keep going. Safety equipment limits the car to about 150 mph; they hope to reach 200 mph safely, at the next Salt Flats event, which falls on Sept. 13 through 15. They hope students at UVSC will come support them. Admittance is $10 and events occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.saltflats.com/schedule 06.htm "**•*•«71*••*•**>•"-' ! - < * ' Sept 8 - Oct 7,2006 Fridays, Saturdays & Mondays 7:30pm Dinner served at 6:3 Opm Tickets: $9 adults $7 seniors, students, kids FHE Groups Welcome- call for pricing Add dinner for an additional $10pp Call 764-0535 for reservations. www.csmtc.com 177 West Center St. Provo MAY WE NEVER FO .... / ^ A A : -.•^^^•v,*r.:i,',.,..,:v;,ii^^P Life Editor Luke Hickman Sports Editor Ben Webster Web Manager Adam Torkildson Special Section Editor Ryan Mccks Designers Sarah Hale A mien Sargsyan Matt Williams Photo Editor Jamie Tcerlink Copy Editor Amy Wilson Ad Manager Whitney Woodward Office Manager Robbin Anthony Adviser Brent Sumner 5> / ^%-5 v v?^ CONTACT US: Student Media 800 W.
