Show www.dailyutahchronicle.com SKIING 3 Tuesday, January 18, 2011 Some people absolutely hate the snow, and others live for it. Some move to Utah to become ski bums, and others move away from Utah to enjoy the warm, sunny beaches of places such as California. Utah is an attraction to many because of the powdery snow and that it is home of some of the best ski resorts in the world. The U brings in many students each year, and the snow helps the appeal. This week's special section of The Daily Utah Chronicle showcases the mountains of Utah, and the snow that blankets them. Josh Bennett PHOTOS BY JEFF MCGRATH/The Daily Utah Chronicle Fresh snow made the slopes at Alta the perfect place to be during the weekend for skiiers, including Logan Potter and Matt Hoskins, above, both juniors in business administration. Potter and Hoskins said it was their first time on the slopes, as they had recently transferred to the U. |
