| Show CLUB WORK IN BOX ELDER COUNTY IN EXCELLENT CONDITION on saturday july 29 an inspection trip was made to the various towns throughout the county for the purpose of seeing the work that has been done by the boys and girls in their club work activities doling dur ug the summer months the trip was made by supervisor W J glenn and prof Prot lorin A merrill of I 1 the extension division of the agricultural college willard was the first town visited A number of the boys and girls were met mere and ana their work gone over oler and inspected some excellent fields of 0 onions potatoes and sug sugar gar beets were visited and it was found that the boys and their fields are in first class condition thoroughly cultivated perfectly irrigated and not a single weed to be found the next stop was at fielding where a number of very fine fields of potatoes onions and sugar beets were inspected at noon the girls had met at the home of mrs AI H welling where ley had on exhibition the most excellent work they had been doing in canning bread and cake making and in sewing A nice dinner was served by airs welling after which vIlich 1 the party went on to garland where they met the girls at the ho home in e of mrs 3 C wheelon here the girls had samples of 0 their work in canning and bread making and judging from the quality of the work shown the girls club at garland nas lias done some very commendable work A number of fields were then visited near tre monton and elwood and the next stop was made at bear river city where the girls club which is composed ol of eighteen members was found waiting at the home of mrs aaron christen sen sell here tile the girls had bad their work in sewing and canning to show and it was of the same sanle commendable quality as that witnessed during tile the earlier part of the day this group of girls has especially done some fine work in sewing and in the canning of vegetables the girls clubs in brigham city have done some very creditable work in sewing canning and baking during the summer m months notwithstanding the fact that the frost took most or of the fruit and vegetables vegetable some of these energetic girls report that they have succeeded in getting almost almo st quart jars of fruits and vegetables and made up of a goodly variety the boys poultry auns in a number of towns have done some very fine work the boys have made ex cellena records in hatching and rearing of chicks and many flocks of oure cure breil bred poultry are to be seen as a result refill of this work w with w I 1 t h the t I 1 ie boys b 0 ys a and na girls prof merrill ll errill spoke in terms of praise to the boys and girls as lie met them during the day for the I 1 inott excellent work they are ac accomplishing complis 1 lie ile said at the close of the dav that the work in box elder county comity was in a most excellent con condition diffin it at the present time being equal to or better than any other part ot of tile fie state |
