Show MOS CHARLOTTE INGHAM DIES monday evening just as the shades of evening began to fall mrs airs charlotte ingram closed her eyes in that sleep which knows no awakening in this life the aged lady had been ill tor for a few days previous to her demise and her advanced age made her recovery a thing of doubt in ili vie the passing of mrs ingram another of those immortals who helped to lay the foundation of our present civilization has gone to a well earned reward brigham city was not many years old when she came here and she had watched it grow to its present proportions always willing to contribute her part to the general progress of the community she was vas born in maldon essex england november IG 16 1839 she was converted to mormonism in lier her native land and was vias baptized into the church on june 14 1853 by president charles W V penrose her fathers family being the second in that district to accept the gospel being a sweet singer she was dratted drafted into the service of the church immediately to assist the elders in furnishing music for their meetings and in this labor she traveled around much with the missionaries sion aries narles I 1 she came to utah in with the J D ross company traveling by ox team and mrs ingram ingrain walked most of the distance from omaha to salt lake she made her home in salt lake and centerville Cent erville until the year 1862 when she became the wife of james ingram ingrain and removed to ehtee mile alile creek cree t now perry perri W I 1 bere le r T 1 l bcd aadi I 1 lal k tp TM W liu sided until 1867 when t they ley came canneto cai neto to Brig brigham hain where the tha famil has dilce resided five children were born into the world by mrs ingram ingrain and they are all living twenty three grand children came to bless her life also and sixteen ot of them survive her iier her husband passed on to the other life nearly three years ago mrs ingram was wap a woman who was beloved by all who knew her she was of a quiet disposition and cared little for public preferment being content to preside in her home and she made that her castle in the wards where she has resided she was active in ia church ork until the ravages of time made it impossible for her to give of her services k longer and in ili her passing a good woman has gone to rest one ohe who has enriched the world by living in it funeral services were held yester day afternoon in ih the second ward i chapel |
