Show AROUND THE HIL1 Youth Center FLAG FOOTBALL. PRACTICE starts Nov. 6 and games begin Nov. 18. The Awards Ceremony will be Dec. 18. Coaches Training will be Nov. 7, 8 and 9. Coaches only need to attend one of these training dales. CPR & First Aid Training for xoaches is Nov. 4. BASKETBALL 2006-2007 SEASON REGISTRATION (players & coaches) Oct. 30 - Dec. 1. The Youth Center is open for teens only, ages 13-18, on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. Teens can play pickup basketball games, video games, pool, and watch movies on a big screen T.V. EVERY TUESDAY TORCH CLUB MEETING. Open to ages 913, this club meets every Tuesday from 4-5 p.m. Get involved and voice your ideas for activities, events, and field trips offered at the Youth Center. EVERY THURSDAY KEYSTONE CLUB MEETING. Open to ages 13-18, this club meels every Thursday from 5-6 p.m. Get involved and voice your ideas for activities, events, and field trips offered at the Youth Center. NOV. 3 FAMILY BINGO. From 6-9 p.m., cost is $5 for members (show your membership card and receive $1 off) and $6 for nonmembers. There are a total of 15 games along with a ticket for two door prize drawings. Parents and adults may only purchase as many game cards for themselves as they purchase for their children. Daubers are available for $1.50 in a variety of colors. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. for game card purchases. NOV. 17 SKATE NIGHT. Preteens and Teens are welcome to skate in the gymnasium from 6-9 p.m. Ages 6-8 must be accompanied by an adult. NOV. 10 VETERANS DAY the Youth Center will be closed. NOV. 18 GIVE PARENTS A BREAK/GIVE KIDS A BREAK. From 5-9 p.m. Give Parents A Break is free child care for active duty families and requires a referral and AF Form 1181. The Child Development Center takes kids ages 6 weeks-5 years and the Youth Center takes kids ages 6-12 years. Referrals are obtained at the Family Support Center. Give Kids A Break is $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers, with a completed AF Form 1181, and does not require a referral (if space is available). Register by Nov. 10. NOV. 21 HARVEST CELEBRATION. You and your family are invited to join the fun and give thanks at the Youth Center from 4-6 p.m. We will have games, pumpkin painting contest, snacks, and more. This event is free for Youth Center members and their families and $3 for nonmembers. Please bring a canned food item; we will donate all the canned food that we collect to a local shelter. NOV. 23 THANKSGIVING the Youth Center will be closed. NOV. 24 PRETEEN DANCE. Keystone Club is hosting this dance from 6-9 p.m. for ages 6 -12. Join your friends; cost is $3 for members and $4 for members without their membership card and $5 for nonmembers. Youth Center dress code applies; no midriff or spaghetti straps. Join us Monday through Thurs day from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in our Homework Lab. Youth are provided a room free of noise to complete homework and other school projects. YOUTH EMPLOYMENT SKILLS PROGRAM (YES).The " Youth Employment Skills Program is an on-base volunteer program for high school students and is being offered at select Air Force bases. This program, underwritten by the Air Force Aid Society, is a joint effort between AFASand Air Force Services to offer high school students an opportunity to learn valuable work skills, "bank" dollar credits toward their post-secondary education, and have a positive impact on their base community. YES allows students to "bank" $4 in grant funding for every hour volunteered in an on-base organizations. CONGRESSIONAL AWARD. Open lo youth ages 14-18, the Congressional Award is about challenge. It is a fun way to ^ get more involved in something you'already enjoy or that you would like to try for the first lime. To earn the award, *' you set goals in four areas: Volunteer public service, personal development, physical fitness, and expedition/exploration. Our Teen Coordinator will help you set challenging but achievable goals and plan activities to reach those goals. APPROPRIATE DRESS REQUIRED FOR ALL YOUTH CENTER FUNCTIONS. Halter tops and spaghetti straps are not permitted. Shirts must cover midriff. Garments should not . contain inappropriate slogans or advertisement for alcohol, tobacco, or include sexually suggestive content or text. Pants will not be worn in a manner that shows undergarments. Closed-toe shoes are highly recommended.
