The essay theme was, “Why I Would Like to See a Network of Interconnected, Multi-use, Nonmotorized Pathways in Ogden Valley.” Ogden Valley Pathways By Katie Pollock The Ogden Valley Pathways will provide a safe and healthy way to enjoy our beautiful home in Ogden Valley. Though we do live in the Valley, we do have busy roads. I know my mother and many other mothers won’t let their children ride their bikes, or walk on our roads. The Ogden Valley pathways are not only a wonderful idea for children, but also a great idea for adults to work out on. O surveyed my friends and family on their opinions of how they think the Ogden Valley pathways will improve Ogden Valley. “I think they’re a wonderful idea, and they will provide some Jr. High students with healthy transportation to school,” says Jodi Goodenough. “These [pathways] are a great way to exercise, and it’s right by my house!” says Connie Crawford. Not only will they provide us with something great to have fun on, they will also keep our natural habitat in our grand Valley. My Family, and many other families, thank who ever has contributed to the Ogden Valley Pathways. Ogden Valley Pathways Approximately 1000 bicyclists are killed every year in the U.S. Approximately 3 people are killed every day in the U.S. If we can put trails in Ogden Valley, we just might be able to lower the number of bicyclists killed every year. Please help and support Ogden Valley Pathways. Ogden Valley Pathways By Travis Kennedy By Trevor Coccimiglio I think you should have trails on the road, and trails off the road. There have been many accidents because bicyclists are riding their bikes on the road, and people hit them because they are drunk, or there’s not enough room for the cyclists to ride their bikes on the road. I think that what Ogden Valley Pathways is doing is very good for the Valley. If we have trials, there won’t be as many accidents, and that’s a good thing. You should have trails in Ogden Valley for lots of reasons: To lower the number of deaths and injuries; give a place for people to ride their bikes, and not have cars come within two feet of their heads. I think we should have trails for this reason mainly—people die from bicycle accidents. I think we should help and support Ogden Valley Pathways in any way we can. Here are some statistics on bicycle fatalities. Research shows that: Looking for an alternative to high cost and chemically treated produce. Man, I’m so glad no one got hit, thanks to those Ogden Valley pathways.” Ogden Valley Pathways are the greatest things, I mean you can ride your bike or go for a walk without some car about to smash you. When I first moved up here, the only sidewalk by my house was at Snowcrest.. Every time I went out, my parents thought I was going to get hit by a stupid drunk teenager. But then when the pathways came, my parents let me go anywhere. The pathways are kind of like a superhero because people die every year from walking on the road when a drunk teenager comes zoomin’ around the corner. But now if people stay on the pathways, no one would get hurt, so we would have a better community. The pathways should spread around the world to help people scared to go on the streets because of drunk, or just stupid drivers. I guess I feel special about having the pathways there to help me. So that’s why we should think about expanding the Pathways. Thanks a whole bunch for building them! Ogden Valley Pathways By Carly Hirst What a beautiful day for walking, but where could you go on a walk and not be worried about being hit by a car? The answer is on the Ogden Valley Pathways. These pathways are of wonderful value to Ogden Valley, and many other communities. They let us see nature in its natural habitat. They let us travel to many places just with our feet or bike, because they don’t allow motorized vehicles. I have an old friend who goes walking. Every time I see her, I just hope a car doesn’t hit her. With these pathways, she could walk in a place where I wouldn’t be worried about her. Lots of families want to spend time together. Sometimes they can’t find something they can all do. With these beautiful pathways, you can go as a family to see and study nature. And the little kids can go on the easier paths. These pathways are a wonderful opportunity for all kinds of enjoyment. I hope they will be preserved so my children and grandchildren can walk and enjoy what I have enjoyed. Thank you for making these beautiful pathways to help us see the beauty of our earth.
