Show The Ogden Valley news Volume XXIII Issue IX Page 7 June 1, 2016 Announcements Obituaries Dorothy “Dottie” Leone Nemetz March 5, 1933 - May 18, 2016 Dorothy (Dottie) Nemetz, wife of Paul Dorothy Nemetz Nemetz, was welcomed into our Lord’s arms May 18, 2016. Dottie was born in Ft. Benton, Montana on March 5, 1933 to Timothy and Nadine O’Connell. Dottie was one of six children that were raised in rural Highwood, Montana. She graduated from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, where she pursued her nursing degree and was later trained as a midwife in San Francisco, California. Dottie loved the mountains and plains of the west and lived in Montana, Wyoming and Utah. She loved to create beautiful things, including stained glass, needlework and especially oil paintings. Her love of the outdoors Dale Stewart May 29, 1950 ~ May 4, 2016 Dale Bartholomew Stewart, 65, of Rancho Murieta California, passed away in an automobile accident May 4, 2016. Dale was born May 29, 1950 to Morriss Bartholomew and Edna Dale Stewart Wright Stewart in Payson, Utah. Dale spent much of his youth in South Ogden Utah and excelled at baseball and football. He graduated from Bonneville High School in Ogden, Utah in 1968 where he was known as an excellent athlete and was a student officer. He went on to attend Utah State University on a football scholarship. Dale shared his passion for sports with many and coached and mentored many little leaguers over the years. Dale is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in 1970 in the North Central States Mission serving the people of Minnesota and Manitoba Canada. He married Patty Rich DeHaan in 1974 and they had three children: Shalece (Brandt) Sanders of Mountain Green, Utah; Angie (Nate) Boswell of Liberty, Utah; and Jordan DeHaan of Salt Lake City, Utah. They later divorced. He married Kami Dunn Jensen in 1992. They also later divorced. The majority of Dale’s professional life Richard Layton Humphries November 18, 1930 ~ May 8, 2016 Richard Layton Humphries returned to his Heavenly Father May 8, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born November 18, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to John F. and Luella Layton Humphries. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Charlotte Bruestle Humphries, his 4 children: Victoria (Paul), Charlotte (Kurt), Susanne (Stuart), and Richard Walter (Eileen); 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his dog Buddy, who all were the joy of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents. Her caring for others ran deep in her service for her church and community. With her husband, Paul, she volunteered for years serving food at Saint Anne’s, and working with her fellow parishioners at the Saint Florence Church in Huntsville, Utah. Dottie’s entire life was devoted to the service of others. Dottie is survived by her husband, Paul Nemetz, of Eden, Utah; her sons, Patrick Fallon (Patricia), McKinney, TX; Donald Fallon (Carol), Eden, UT; David Fallon, Pinedale, WY; and Charles Beans (Janine), Castle Rock, CO; as well as Paul’s son Dr. Dave Nemetz (Molly), Bondurant, WY and his daughter Carol Nemetz, Casper, WY. Dottie loved her numerous grandchildren who referred to her lovingly as their “Silly Granny.” Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, May 23, 2016 at St. Florence Catholic Church, 6461 SR-39, Huntsville, Utah. At the time of his death he was the President of Access Modification Services, Inc. in Rancho Murieta, California—a company dedicated to building access features in homes for those with limited mobility. Dale has an outgoing and engaging personality. His charismatic and friendly manner made him many friends and associates over the years. He had a way with words not only in conversation but he was also an excellent writer. It is hoped that Dale’s physical challenges may now be relieved and that he may rest in the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. Dale is preceded in death by his father Morriss; mother Edna; and brothers Larry, Charlie, John, Jim, and Ralph. He is survived by his sisters Elsie Thomas (Rex deceased) of Spanish Fork; Ludene Field (Ed) of Goshen; and brothers Joel Stewart (Rhonda) of South Ogden and Don Stewart (Sharon) of Ogden, Utah. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Margie, Sharon, Mary, Louise and Bobbie and numerous nieces and nephews and eight grandchildren: Breely, Brenon, Janson, Porter, Jillian, Olivia, Ben and Evette. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Ogden 49th LDS Ward Building, 4210 S. 300 W., Riverdale, Utah. Interment at Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 S. 400 E., Spanish Fork, Utah. He served our country as a Navy Corpsman during the Korean War. After his service he attended the University of Utah. Richard worked for Clover Club Foods for 20 years before employment with Archway Cookies as a sales manager until retirement. He married Charlotte Bruestle April 12, 1968; the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 7, 1993. He was an active member of the LDS church, serving as a High Priest. He loved his calling as a home teacher bringing, a gospel message and love to his families each month. He enjoyed being around his family, spending time at their mountain property in Huntsville, Davis High, and U of U sports, outdoor sports, water skiing, bowling, gardening, playing board games with his grandchildren, and playing basketball with his great grandson. Funeral services were held Friday, May 13, 2016 at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main St. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at <www.lindquistmortuary.com> Halvor Dee Bailey Halvor Bailey December 18, 1970 ~ May 15, 2016 Halvor Bailey of Orem, Utah passed away unexpectedly May 15, 2016 at age 45. He was born December 18, 1970 in Ogden, Utah. He was an amazing Betty Jean Kilgore July 21, 1931 ~ May 9, 2016 Our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born July 21, 1931 in Betty Kilgore Onamia, Minnesota to Edward Anderson and Anna Langely. She married George Edward Kilgore April 3, 1953. Betty grew up in Onamia, Minnesota, the seventh of nine children. She grew up in the depression and, as a result, was a prolific saver. She taught all of her children to save and to be thrifty. When Betty was 18 she and her sister Van hitched a ride with a friend to California. There she met George at a dance at the Presidio in Don Brown Hardy Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, greatgrandpa, uncle and friend returned home to his loving Heavenly Father Sunday, May 15, 2016. Don Brown Hardy was born August 11, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Loren Josiah Hardy and Thelma Don Hardy Diana Brown. He was raised in Huntsville, Utah on the family farm where he worked side by side with his father for many years, and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He served an LDS mission to the Mexico City, Mexico Mission and enjoyed serving in many callings in the church. Upon his return home he attended Utah State University for two years, after which he enlisted in the Army and served from January 1954 to December 1955, father driven by the love of his children. He was a skilled musician and an outstanding student and athlete. He is survived by his five children: Ethan, Morgan, Corinne, Afton, and Brennen; his granddaughter Luna; his brother Nathan Bailey and sisters, Mikaela, Shaela, and Siearra; and his parents Lyle and Lisa Bailey and Ed and Lucy Wolsey; and his wonderful Grandma Lucille Bailey. Funeral services were held Friday, May 20 at Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State St., Orem, Utah. San Francisco. It was love at first sight and they were married a short time later. Betty and George raised four children as they traveled around the western United States. She was a loyal mother and wife. Betty moved from job to job with her husband of 50-plus years, for a total of 20-plus moves. She loved to laugh. Her children and grandchildren loved listening to her stories of growing up in Minnesota. She loved trips to Wendover, visiting her children around the country, and most of all being with her family. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother and two sisters. She is survived by her four children: David (Peret) Kilgore, Dan (Kay) Kilgore, Donna (Larry) Gillis, and Donald (Margie) Kilgore. Also, two sisters and three brothers as well as 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held to celebrate her life, May 13, 2016 in Huntsville, Utah. He married Janice Jabbs August 10, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and has been married just 3 months short of 60 years. They were blessed with four children: daughter Carolyn (Loren) Facer, son Rodney (Mary Ann), daughter Beth (Kenneth) Kapp, and daughter Sandi (Mike) Espinosa. He has 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed being in the great outdoors doing many activities including hunting, fishing, camping, and taking his family on vacations. He enjoyed farming, the raising of animals, and riding horses. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W., Roy, Utah. Interment in the Logan Utah cemetery where military honors were accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
