Huntsville Man Charged With Aggravated Murder Detectives have charged Frank Michael Biccum (60), with aggravated murder in connection with the death of his wife Deborah (Debbie) Biccum (60). The incident occurred at Lakeside Village Condominiums outside of Huntsville Town at 6486 W. Highway 39. The husband was found in a nearby condo that he had access to. Weber County Sheriff deputies responded to the couple’s Lakeside Village condominium Sunday, May 22 at about 8:40 a.m. after receiving information that Frank had “hurt or killed his wife.” Just after noon, SWAT members found Deborah Biccum deceased in the home. Frank was later arrested in the nearby condo where he was hiding. According to Lt. Findlay with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary autopsy results for Deborah Biccum were ruled inconclusive. “Although there was trauma to her body, the exact cause of her death has not been determined. We will now be waiting for the results of a toxicology report and further examination, which could take several weeks. Although there were no official reports made to law enforcement, statements and evidence indicate there was a history of domestic violence in the relationship. Frank is being held at the Weber County Jail on the 1st degree felony charge, and he is not eligible for bail at this time. The investigation, which remains active and on-going, is being handled by the Weber County Homicide Task Force. Jason of Peterson Builders Receives Award from the Salt Lake Firemen’s Relief Association On May 26, members of the Salt Lake Firemen’s Relief Association presented an award to Jason Peterson of Peterson Builders. This award presentation took place Thursday morning at Eden Park. Jasen Asay from the Salt Lake City Fire Department stated, “Last year, one of our firefighters was doing some home construction work and fell off a ladder. He suffered major injuries that he has since recovered from; however, while he was injured, his fellow firefighters finished the construction work, with help from Peterson Builders, which provided the labor, subcontractors, and materials.” Dan Mortensen added, “The firefighters helped, but Jason really pulled it Shown above, from left to right, are Dan Mortensen, all together and got the job done.” Jason and his wife Tammy are from Daren Mortenson, Jason Peterson, and Brody O’Connor, Eden. who came to Eden to present Jason the award. personnel returned to Pineview left that residence on Saturday at about 6:00 Reservoir p.m., and that was the T h u r s d a y, last time he had been May 26 to seen alive. In 1999, the life of a beautiful little girl was cut short by an inoperable brain tumor. Elisabeth Hillstrom had just finished first grade. Because of her illness, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah had granted Elisabeth’s wish for a horse, a corral, and feed for a year. Sadly, CHARITY SALE cont. on page 8 Annual Ogden Valley Charity Garage Sale Slated Make July 22 and July 23 the days you stop by and find a treasure at the Ogden Valley Charity Garage Sale! The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah, and McKay Dee Foundation Labor and Delivery Bereavement are recipients, and other Ogden Valley youth and their families who have medical situations are also helped. Five families with Valley connections were assisted last year. The unsold items from the garage sale are donated to the Deseret Industries, the Salvation Army, and other organizations. Over the past 17 years, the garage sale has made over $121,000, with $13,500 coming in last year. The Garage Sale also received a $1,500 contribution from the Huntsville Marathon, which goes directly to Make-a-Wish. This year’s garage sale will be held Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23, at 9520 E. 400 S. in Huntsville, at the home of Mike and Cindy Hillstrom. Shown above are UDOT employees, from left to right, Transportation Technician III, Derek Smith; Transportation Technician II, Brenden Thompson; and Troy Brunker, Maintenance Station Supervisor at the UDOT Huntsville station. The men drive the large, heavy equipment used to clear the Monte Cristo pass, which rises to a little over 9,000 ft. above sea level. The large machine behind the drivers, a Stewart & Stevenson snowblower, is valued at about a half a million dollars, and can clear about 3,000 tons of snow an hour—plowing through 6 feet of snow at a time. Brunker has worked for UDOT for the past 20 years, driving the heavy equipment and clearing the Monte Cristo Highway. He took over as Station Supervisor in June of 2011 after former supervisor Steven Shupe passed away in 2011. Shupe, also from Huntsville, named the Stewart & Stevenson the “Little Giant,” a name which has stuck, according to Brunker. The snowblower behind the Little Giant is a Kodiak snowblower. |
