The facility is located at 477 23rd Street in Ogden, The Weber-Morgan Health Department has become the first health department in the state to issue birth certificates on a Saturday. Other activities scheduled for August 16 include fingerprinting by the Ogden City Police Department, nutrition and hand-washing advice, and a car-seat safety checkpoint. Parents are welcome to come to the health department on Saturday, August 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to obtain birth certificates that are normally issued only on weekdays. By opening the facility on the weekend, health officials hope to accommodate busy parents who work during the week. “We see a lot of parents at this time of year who maybe haven’t thought about the birth certificate requirement to get their child enrolled in school,” commented program director Kim Caliari. “We hope this will alleviate some of their stress at this busy time of year.” For more information on this program, call (801) 399-7132.
