Show Volume XV Issue XIV The Ogden Valley news Page July 1, 2008 Announcements Obituaries Rae Ann Hall Burgess Fowler Larsen Rae Ann Larsen, 65, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson Disease. Rae Ann was born Rae Ann Larsen March 10, 1943 in Ogden, to Ray E. and Ina L. (Ann) Hall. She graduated from Weber High School in 1961 and earned a B.A. in Logistics Management from Weber State University in 1981. She worked at Hill AFB, retiring after Oneal S. Wilcox Oneal S. Wilcox, our beloved husband, father, son, Papa, and brother, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Oneal was born on March 27, 1958 in Ogden, Utah son of Oneal Wilcox Bob and Betty Wilcox. Oneal grew up in Huntsville, Utah and graduated from Weber High School in 1976. He served an honorable LDS mission for two years in North Carolina. After coming home, he met his sweetheart, Sara Froerer, and they were married for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple August 28, 1980. Oneal served in the Air Force Reserve for more than 20 years and retired with high honors. He had tremendous respect and loved his country deeply. He was very respected among those who he served with. Oneal was an amazing husband and father. He loved his family deeply and would do anything for them. He spent his time helping everyone who was in need, and never once thought of himself first. Oneal was very active in the LDS church; he served in many callings and 36 years. Rae Ann had a life-long love of horses and at age 25 bought the first one. She dedicated her life to raising, breeding, and caring for countless paints on her “High Valley Ranch” in Huntsville. She is survived by her husband Jack V. Larsen, Huntsville; a daughter, Wendy G. Burgess, Harrisville; her mother, Harrisville; a sister Jan (Boyd) Ressler, Syracuse; and a brother Guy E. (Joyce) Hall, Roy. She was preceded in death by her father. Rae Ann has donated her body to science and per her request, no services were held. loved every one of them. He loved to be with his family; he spent his life teaching his children how to love one another and how to love life. He was always happy and always making people feel like they were a part of our family no matter who they were. Oneal was the true meaning of The Good Samaritan. He loved to serve and to make people happy. We love him so deeply and will miss our husband and father. Oneal is survived by his wife, Sara, his children Stephanie (Will) Tucker, Centerville, UT; Rachel (Aaron) Van Beekum, Harrisville, UT; Spencer; Amanda; Aaron, Ogden UT. Two grandchildren, Cole and Cayson Van Beekum. He is also survived by his parents, Bob and Betty Wilcox. His brother Roy (Melanie) Wilcox, Rhonda (David) Clarke, Jacklyn (Dennis) Whitten, Ranae Wilcox, and Mark (Denise) Wilcox. A viewing was held Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Waterfall Canyon Ward, 3254 Polk Ave., Ogden, UT. Christian Richard Jensen Christian Richard Jensen passed away June 19, 2008 in St. George, Utah. He was born August 12, 1985 in Ogden, Utah, to Richard Hill Jensen and Melanie Stephens Jensen. Christian was a longtime Christian Jensen resident of Huntsville, Utah; he loved the farm and working with his dad, sisters, and brother; Spencer and Uncle Gary. He was proud of being a Jensen and carrying on his great-great-great grandfather’s name of Christian Jensen. He loved his family, his life, his mountain bike, and, most of all, his country. He was in the army reserves and trained to be a medic; one of his goals in life was to go overseas and fight for our freedom. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many positions, and served an LDS Barbara Jean Burch Florence – “Barbie” Barbara Jean Burch Florence, “Barbie,” passed June 12, 2008, with her loving family surrounding her. Although we greatly mourn her death, we can’t help but celebrate her beautiful life. Barbie was born July 22, 1931 in Denver, Colorado to Leonard J. Burch and Ethal Emma Evans Burch. They moved to Ely, Nevada where she spent most of her early life. Barbie was active in school and enjoyed after school activities. Barbie moved to Ogden, Utah and married Ralph Marra. They had three beautiful children together. After their divorce, she married Stan Florence and had one son with him. They also later divorced. Barbie worked and retired from Hill Interment, Washington Heights Air Force Base while also working as a Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 4500 successful realtor. She owned her own Washington, Blvd., South Ogden, Utah. agency, Florence & Company. Christian is survived by his parents, his maternal grandmother Donna Stephens, Ogden; sisters Aimee, Lacey, Ashlee, Cassie, Natalie, Marissa; brother Spencer, and eleven surviving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Keith Grow and Lula Hill Jensen, and maternal grandfather Rees J. Stephens, also a beautiful niece Josephine May Calvert. He loved all of our Heavenly Father’s creations of beauty, from roses to the red cliffs of St. George. We will meet again, Christian. A viewing was held at the Huntsville LDS Church (277 S. 7400 E. across from Huntsville Park) on Tuesday morning, June 24, 2008. Burial in the Huntsville Cemetery. She enjoyed traveling and was always amazed at the beauty of this world. Barbie enjoyed the simple things in life too, including gardening, planting flowers, and, most of all, the nickel machines in Mesquite. She will always be remembered for her “Oh just 10 more minutes!” She also had a special bond with her Yorkie Terrier, Charlie, who will surely miss her. She is survived by her children: Rhonda (Kent) Dearden, Eden, UT; Jackie (Randy) Bitton, South Ogden, UT; James Florence, Leadville, CO; Dan (Cindy) Florence, Perry, UT; and brother James Burch, Ogden, UT. Barbie has 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Mom loved each and every one of them, and was proud of all of them. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and four sisters. The family wants to extend a special Thank You to Bonneville Dialysis Center and their patients for their compassion, kindness, and friendship.
