Show Volume XV Issue XIV The Ogden Valley news Page July 1, 2008 GARLACTICA 2008: First Annual Ogden Valley Garlic Festival This is an invitation to the Ogden Valley community to participate in an evening of celebrating garlic, farming in Ogden Valley, and enjoying an evening of farm-fresh eating. Sandhill Farms, an Ogden Valley herb and vegetable farm, would like to invite any and all community members to the first annual Sandhill Farms Garlic Festival. The event will take place at Sandhill Farms in Eden from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. on the full moon of July 18. Along with all the gold and precious gems, what special herb was placed inside King Tutankhamen’s tomb in ancient Egypt? What plant is now receiving scientific praises by western medical research for its effectiveness in lowering blood pressure, reducing cholesterol levels, and improving immune system strength? The herb’s name is garlic. Sandhill Farms has planted over 10,000 garlic plants, including thirteen varieties from around the world. Maurice Abravanel conducted the orchestra from 1947 to 1979, during which the Utah Symphony became a leading ensemble. Maurice Abravanel Hall, acclaimed as one of the world’s greatest concert halls, is now home to the orchestra. Admittance to this concert is $40 per carload. Wolf Creek is committed to keeping their entertainment affordable for all. “We are so honored to host such a prestigious musical ensemble.
