Another thing is you have to know who to call. It is not too hard to remember a 3 digit phone number, and if you're a forgetful person, keep a phone card with all the numbers of things like poison control, neighbors, police, ambulance, fire (parents work or home), relatives, physicians, hospital, friends, the pharmacy, etc. While you wait for the ambulance the dispatcher will try to help direct you on how you can help. Try and do everything they say. You could save a life! My favorite TV show used to be Rescue 911. It was about all these emergencies. The operators would always help the people before the police got there. When the police get there you are supposed to back off, and let the police, fire or ambulance crew do their job. Maybe you have a drug problem. If yoU do who can you call to get help to quit taking drugs? There are many drug treatment centers for people who have problems with drugs. There are many different services available all you need lo do is dial three simple numbers which are 1. Who Ya Gonna Call?-911!!- !! by Trenton Bosworth bhty,l9 ? 7?? -- iWWKfcdvft the recent focus on Emergency Medical Services during series of events a week-lon- g educate to elementary and designed middle age school students, a writing contest was held which allowed students to express' their feelings about services offered in the county. The three stories that follow were the top winners of the contest. Who Ya Gonna Call Grant by What would happen if you were babysitting your brother and he started choking? Who would you call? You decide to call your mom at work, but after you think about it With lxk your mom cant help you if she is 30 miles away. Then you remember about the 'assembly you had at school. It was about how you were supposed to call 911 if anything bad happened. So you dial 911, and you made the right choice. When the EMT crew gets there they take care of your brother and tell you that by calling 911 you saved you brothers Page Whenever the ambulance pagers ring their tone, members of the North Summit Emergency Services drop everything and run to your aid. That's who your going to call in the event you really need some help. These dedicated members leave whatever they-ardoing and immediately respond. Many times my mom has had to leave something our family is doing to help someone else, but thats okay her. because needs someone Sometimes my mom is sad when she comes home after a run that didn't go too well. It upsets her when she goes to accident's that could have been prevented. IL'S good having a parent that is an EMT because she teaches us the things that can maybe help us from having accidents. Other times things went really well and mom comes home really happy. I remember one time when a man had chest pain and then his heart stopped. My mom was able to help him by shocking his heart and he lived. Mom danced around the house several days after that call. Calling 911 should always be the first thing you do whenever an accident happens or whenever you are in need of help or are in trouble. They will always answer the phone and tell you what to do until the ambu up. Someone else could he in need and you are stopping them from getting the help that they need by tying up the phone. Also the 911 system has to check on each address that has a 91 1 hang up just in case there is a problem and that keeps officers away from their important duties if they have to chase down someone making prank calls. Who ya gonna call? 911 !! Is a good jingle to remember so you know who to call when you are really scared about something that has happened to your family or friends. You can help strangers too by calling for help if you see something happen to them. I'm glad my mom is an EMT, and it makes me feel safer knowing she can help us with just about anything. Who Y Gonna Call 911 by Dustin Orgill In the dictionary, dispatch means; An item or message sent to a new organization, as by a correspondent. Or in other words it means the mes- - . sage from the in caller to the dispatcher, then the dispatcher relays that information to a seeker, or a police officer, who goes and tries to help solve a problem. Some of the skills a good dispatcher has to have is to keep it cool in a hot situation, good communication skills, being able to transfer a message from a panicked person to a police offtcer, and to be a fast typer. The next person to make an effective team is a police officer, or sheriff. To be a good police officer, or sheriff you need to have some good skills like driving, keeping calm, knowing how to deal with different people in different situations sometimes depending on where you live, you need to be a sharpshooter, good communication skills, and being organized and ready for anything at any time. Also the definition in the dictionary for Sheriff is: A high law enforcement official of an U.S. county. Most people think that being a police man means going around on high speed chases, carrying around a gun, and being able to slap handcuffs on any pedestrian that Well those people are dead wrong, the police have a lot more stuff to do than just sit around eating doughnuts and watching for Police officers get calls for all sorts of weird things from shoplifting to Rope The Summit Rope The Summit held their first of the season saddle jackpot roping on May 26 at Ladd Dick's arena.
