It was pretty busy when we stop and think about it. We had Mother's Day. weddings, funerals, graduations and Memorial Day. Now comes June and before we hardly have time to adjust to that, it will he time to plan for New Year's Eve. Not to worry, let's just lake each day as it comes and make the most of each one. President Shirley Phelps was on hand to take care of the nittygritlies of running the Center. I think she is doing a bit of worrying too about who do we get to replace LaRita. We'll let her do the worrying, things will work out and I just bet we won't go hungry. We were happy to have Louise Darlis Brown, Judd's sister-in-lawith us on Wednesday. Hope she will come again. Friday, our welcome guests were Mary Smith and Joyce Mitchell, from Kamas, and Mary has a trip in process for Mesquite the middle of the month. We have a flyer at the Center and you can always contact her if you are interested. We also had nieces and nephews of Eleanor Morby with us. They were David and Blanche Johnson from Toole and Bev and Joe Dalion from Ogden. We all know Bev and Joe and we enjoyed a truly descriptive account from them on their recent trips to Bcjing, China, and the Panama. We could almost picture ourselves right along with them as they talked about the places they visited and the people they met along the way. Their daughter, Jolene. had been to China before and can speak and write to Travel to Exercise to Be Youl Hike met Im Drag Only LS LBS. 2 UM 10 Hows 0 40 Second Nttkno Chinese and had taught Bev and Joe some also. That really helped because people everywhere appreciate the fact that you try to learn a little of their ways. They were truly interested in learning all they could and it showed. They were nice to the people and that kindness was returned. We thank you both these fun limes with us. Five of us had an interesting day at the Symposium held at the City of Orem Senior Friendship Center on Thursday. Those attending were: Louise Judd, Betty Wilde, Gen Wallace and Iorainc Geary, Rock with Loraine providing the transportation. We heard from an enthusiastic speaker, Professor Don Norton, from the BYU Family History Department. The theme throughout the symposium was How to Encourage Scnim Citizens to research and write their histmy" that's while we can still remember it. He gave us some great tips on how to interview people, even our spouses. You'd be surprised at what you may learn. Don't try to write your entire histmy at one time. Start by jotting down incidents that were important to you. Your first recollections, the house you grew up in. Bet you will be surprised at how far back you can recall. Write stories about your ancestors that have been told to you and probably aren't recorded. Even if they are, they will most likely be different than, say your brother or sister's view points. Even if it may sound dull to you. it might he interesting reading to your kids m grandkids. We hope you will give it a try and maybe we can do Subscribe r BreeS; Spring Creek Square Park City Community Clinic The Park City Community Gink is a it family planning and reproductive health program.
