Show June 8f 2001 The Summit County Bee Pape B1 Thunderbirds Celebrate 48 Years of Tradition The United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron Thunderbirds' will celebrate its 48th anniversary with a busy season. T he team will perform more than 60 demonstrations in 29 slates. The team will also return to the Pacific for the first time since 1994. That same year Boyden married his beautiful wife, Jessie Mitchell of Sophia Manchester. England, on June 30. hut unlike many other Mormon leaders in the community he never took an additional wife. Together they had six children, all horn in Coalville. Boyden's house began as a small, brick structure that was common to the area at the time. Later, as the town grew. Boyden's wealth increased and in turn, so did the structure of his home. The Boyden house eventually became one of the nicest homes in the area. Located on 47 West Center Street, the house stood us a testament to the growing wealth in the community as well as a status symbol of Boyden himself. Boyden was born in 1841 in Staffordshire, England, where he spent most of his young life there and was educated as a teacher. Shortly after receiving his degree, he emigrated to Utah with his parents in 1860. That same year Boyden taught school in Morgan for nessman to say the least, manager of the local and Morgan County Boyden was also a longterm School Board member as well as the Summit County Recorder and Bishop of a Mormon Church Ward. Years later, he served three terms as the Coalville City Mayor. In I8(X). his youngest son. John S. became the first licensed phnrmacisi in Utah. Together, in 1892 Boyden and his son opened Coalville's first drugstore called "Boyden and Son". The structure still exists on Main Street and is now a NAI'A auto parts store. Boyden then became the secretary of the Park City Railroad Company and took interest in the local coal mining industry. It is also said that Boyden was known for his expert penmanship.
