Once stocked, it provides good fishing in its picturesque canyon setting. There are limited camping spots along its length. Deer Creek Reservoir Fishermen should find good fishing from boats on this popular reservoir. Shore fishing will probably only be fair. Large numbers of rainbow trout have been planted. Rainbow trout up to 12 inches will dominate the creel; however, brown trout, largemouth bass and yellow perch will also be taken. Several large trout in the trophy class" are taken each year. The reservoir is full and spilling, but this should not hurt fishing for the opener. Many good shore fishing areas are available. Camping areas are also available at the three boat camps and the state park. The Provo Provo River River above Deer Creek Reservoir in Wasatch County is high and muddy. Debris is floating in this swollen stretch of the river. Since water conditions will probably worsen before getting better, it might be best to pass this section up on the opening. |
