' Thcdcddline for purchasing lags has been extended to June 6. Tags' purchased 'Vcfnrc that date will cost S8. Those purchased after .1 unc 6 will cost S 2. As of June 6. every dog in the county and any city within the' county (with the exception of Park City and Francis) should have a Summit County dog license. Those dogs that arc not licensed by tha date will be subject to being impounded. Rabies shots will not be i :quircd for a license this year. However, clinics will be held hroughout the county during the remainder of the year, and the snots will be required in the future. For those people who have already licensed their dogs on any city program in 198Q, it will not be necessary to purchase a county lag. However, they' do need to come to any tag sales location before the June 6' deadline, prove purchase of a city license, and have a county license; issued. Simply becuase the dog is licensed does not insure that it will not be impounded.. If a tagged dog is running at large (off the owners property) it is subject to being impounded. A dog does not have to be leashed if it is on the owners property or if the owner or a representative of the owner is with it. But, if it is by itself, and off the owners property, there is a good chance it will be picked up. Your cooperation with the enforcement of this ordinance will be greatly appreciated. Kcndcll Bridge is located 25 miles upstream from Cora. Wyoming. James Barton. 3 year old son of Dennis and Linda Barton of Layton and grandson of Ben and Rowcnc Barton of Roy was the near victim. Little Jay waded into approximately 7 feet of water in an area near where his 2 cousins, Earl and Shawn Taylor, sons of Raughn and Dian Tayior, were fishing. Upon seeing his cousin in trouble, Earl immediately dropped his fishing gear and swam to save him. Using skills acquired in scouting. Earl rescued his cousin as he was going down for the 2nd time. When he reached the shore Earl checked Jay before returning him to his parents. On April 16th. at a National Court of Honor held in Salt Lake City, Earl received two awards. One was a medal which read For Meritorious Action - Boy Scouts of Earl Taylor The other was a Certificate For Heroism in of cllective his and recognition heroic action in saving the life of James J. Barton. On May 20th. he wa further honored at a Stake Court of Honor held in Hoytsvillc. bud Keyes represented Earl with the above awards. Congratulations Earl! America. Parker feels his most important responsibility to the County, is to assure the safety of,. buildings, according to the Uniform Building Code. Ron Parker, a native of South Dakota, joined orces with Summit County on February 15. of this year. Primarily in charge of the West end of Summit County. Parker's responsibility is to approve all requests for Building Permits in his area. This requires a knowledge of building practices and a rood working knowledge of the Uniform Building Code as well as . Ron Parker, Building Inspector Road Superintendent Social Security Bulletin County Wide Cleanup Scheduled The Summit County Commissioners announce that a general cleanup for the entire county is scheduled for Monday, June 2, 1980. Pickup of refuse will begin at 8:00am. and continue until complete. Residents are invited to deposit debris along roadsides at points where weekly garbage pickup is provided or where dumpsters are located. All kinds of refuse will be accepted and hauled away by county maintenance crews.
