But newly makes us motives for ne sprouted vegetables survived and very little damage was done. When It cleared there was a collective sigh of relief winter Is finally over. The scent of summer Is already In the air, fresh mint and sun tea on the veranda. There Is already talk of Ernie's Rodeo on the Solstice where urban cowboys wM vie for a chance at the big time. And In Oakley, the barrel riders have already been putting their steeds to the test. The Cash Store In Francis is open, a sure sign of summer, and the Ice cream stand at the beginning of the Mirror Lake Road was crowded all weekend. It looks as Summit County Courthouse though opens new the road wHI soon and summer officially wHI open have begun. The rain evaporated Into huge billowy clouds which hugged the peaks and rested in the upper valleys. At wing Bridal Vet Fads the took on a peaks misty mysteriousness. A pair oi kayakers surveyed the Provo rapids apparently undecided about where to put In. Further down the river three crazy tubers hauled themselves qp on the bank shaking off and shivering. Summer Is so sweet and so short that some of us tend to rush It a bit. I would rather see the faBs from Vie observation cars of the Heber Creeper than the chilly waters of the river anyway The Creeper by the way opens on the 24th for Memorial Day weekend. There has been an unusual amount of activity in the town cemetaries this week as lawnmowers buzz back and forth sprucing up the grounds in preparation for the holiday . By next week, they will look like gardens. Throughout the year we tuck away our memories but on Memorial Day we share them and celebrate with ftowers and a day off. NC Summit County Sheriff Ron Robinson was on hand at the dedication of the new wing of the courthouse in Coalville Tuesday. The new addition will house a law library, new offices for the county clerk, treasurer and assessor and a completely modernized jail complete with TV monitors.
