Peterson Glade EarlPeterson,80,ofNeola, UT, passed away April 1 , 200 1 , at the Uintah Basin Medical Center. He was born November 29, 1920, in Vernal, UT, to Earl Elwin and Sarah Lillian Reid Peterson. Glade was working for WW Clyde when he met his sweetheart. Fern. He married Clara Fern Clarkon June 15, 1942, in Evanston, WY. Their marriage was solemnized on January 20, 1962, in the Salt Lake Temple. She died September 19, 1999. Glade faithfully served his try in Europe during World War II. He and Fern settled in Neola where they had a small farm and raised their three children. Glade worked forHi-Lan- d Dairy for manyycars and later for Hatch Co. He was an Elder in the Church ofJesus Christ of Latter-Da- y Saints and had a firm testimony of the gospel. He was outgoing, friendly, and was liked by all. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and an awesome grandfather who had a special relationship with each of his grandchildren. We love you Pa! He loved flBhing, getting wood with his family, square dancing, playingcards, basketball games and enjoyed a good rodeo. He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Floyd) Broadhead, Carol (Donny)Cattoor, both ofNeola, grandchildren, Raelyn, Kari, Brett, and a Nancy; five brother, Duane (Skinner) Peterson, and sister Cleo Stephenson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern, brothers, Dale and Lloyd, son, Kevin and a grandson, Kevin Come Tty Troy. Funeral services will be held 1 1:00 a.m, Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at the Neola LDS Chapel. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6--8 p.m. at the Hu linger Mortuary and on a.m. at Wednesday from the church. . She was bom March 22, 1935 in Roosevelt, Utah to Jessie Vernal and Dora Lucretia Jenkins Freston. She married Coy Lee Durfee August 18, 1953, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She grew up in Roosevelt on the Bar F Ranch with her siblings- - one sister and 4 brothers. She attended Roosevelt Elementary and graduated from Union High were she met and married her forever sweetheart Cqy. She was a "speed ball in everything she did- - even typing faster then her type teacher and crocheting faster than any one. Being with her family was a special joy to her. She was raysorganizingreunkns,gath- ering information for genealogy or encouraging all to write their family the flunily history. She spear-heade- d project of getting headstone placed on the unmarked graves ofancestors in Columbus, Nebraska and Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She was a true humanitarian and thrived on doing things forothers.She war very unselfish, always giving of her time and talents to any one in need. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved unconditionally, was loved by all and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her eternal companion, Coy, two daughters, Jeanne (Eldon) Pulley, Salt Lake, Cindy (Arne) Carlson. Ida graduated from North Cache High School in Richmond, Utah and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University when it was the Agriculture College. Shetaughtschoolforover44years-- 9 years in Whiterocka with the Indian service when she first came to the Uintah Basin and taught Junior High, High Schoolandmanyyears as a 5 grade teacher in the Roosevelt Elementary School. She and Evans operated Phillips Motel in Roosevelt for many years and finished up there in 1976. She is survived by a sister, Ruth Maughan Guymon, of Huntington, Utah and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Milton Maughan, i nominees has been declared eligible torun in the April Sprimary election, traditionally a few of those nominated chose not to seek political office, reducing the actual number of candidates who will square off in this Thursday's primary.
