The BLM picnic site is located along the Dry Fork Canyon Road, immediately below the national forest boundary. There are six sites available. All d Kites have parking, picnic tables and Are rings. The picnic area is scattered alongDry Fork Canyon in the shade of tall trero, makingit cool duringthe hot summer months. The canyon walls at this point become spectacular cliffs and sharp limestone pinnacles. A wide variety of birds can be enjoyed in the trees and brush near the creek. The BLM is currently developing a interpretive hiking trail in partnership with the Vernal Junior High School Escape Club and Ashley National Forest to explain the unique geology and colorful history of the canyon. BLM Recreation Planner, Kim Bartel, said that "Although the Arst segment of the trail is only a little over a mile long, the trail is adjacent to all six picnic sites that the BLM has maintained over the last 30 years and can provide Ain for families to explore.
