Clarence has been an outstanding citizen of our community and the back bone of the American Legion here. He will be remembered by many, especially the youth of the area for his extensive dedication to youth programs such as the Boys state, Oratorical Contest and many others. She was blessed by her father, Curtis, Sunday November 3. Annette Dunsmore, as she was coming home from Salt Lake, hit a deer which caused considerable expense. Steve and Annette are traveling back and forth in order to be with Ryan while he is in the hospital. Steve spends Wednesday through Sunday, then Annette takes over so Steve can return to work on Monday. There was a family gathering at the Calvin and Janet Powell home following the special occasion. Altamont High Schools volleyball team traveled to the College of Eastern Utah in Price to participate in the state volleyball playofTs. The placed fifth in regional play. Alice Thompson, her mother, Edna Robenson, and sister, Ruth Smith, Ogden, drove to Arkansas to see her son and brother, Lou and Zel Price and family. Deaon and Pauline Brown have been here. They took her father, Orson Mott, back to St George with them. Elwin and Lena Thomas drove to Twin Falls, Idaho, last week to get Lenas mother, Nellie Nelson, so she could come to visit Marie Pope has returned back home after Bpending 18 months in Ogden with her sister, Phebe Giles, who passed away. Her funeral was held in Spanish Fork. She spent a lot of time with Marv and Gladys Bell in Arcadia. Ada Thomas has been in Provo since her husband, Sharky, passed away. She had minor surgery done on her face. Art Ross, Arcadia, went with her sister, Doris Morley, Price, to drive a friend back to visit with her mother in North Dakota. She said the weather was nice and people were kind. Christina Nation and Lois Stans-fielwent with Loiss sister, Elou-isand Bob Turner, Vemal to Vemal nnd flew to Salt Lake. From there they flew to Bedford, Virginia. Christina filled a mission there. They stayed in Bedford with Christinas friend for three days. They Baw Civil War battle fields. They rode the ferry across the Jame River to Williamsburg, where they stayed for a week in condominium at Powhanton Plantation. They toured the James Town and York Town areas. They took a cruise on the river where they saw the Navy ships that were docked there after Desert Storm. On Thursday, November 21, the senior citizens are having their Thanksgiving dinner at 12:00 noon. They all stayed with Lelands daughter and husband, Ed and Alene Hughes in Bloomington. While there they toured the temple grounds and went site seeing at Bowlder Dam and Bowlder City. Mr. and Mrs. Kent OlBen left Salt Lake on October 15 for Porto Alegre, Brazil. They went to Orlando, Miami, Rio De Janeiro and then to Porto Alegre where they met their son, Tommy. Elder Olsen has served a two year LDS mission in the Texas San Antonio, Porto Alegre Brazil and Porto Alegre North Missions.
