TERFOWL HUNTERS HUNTING THE UINTAH and OURAY RESERVATION The 1991 Rules and Regulations Proclamation for the Taking of Small Game on the Uintah and Ouray Reservations, as published by Ute Tribe Fish & Game Department contains several errors. All Federal regulations for the taking of Migratory Waterfowl and Migratory Game Birds apply to Uintah and Ouray Reservations and trust lands. The following corrections to Ute Tribal Rules and Regulations for the taking of Small Game apply to any persons hunting Migratory birds the Uintah and Ouray reservations and trust lands: 1) Section 5 (E), stales are that required to procure a 1990, Tribal Small Game permit before hunting waterfowl. This section should read, that a 1991 Tribal Small Game permit is required. 2) Section 6 (A), This section does not include restricted methods of take as outline in 50 CFR 20.21 (a), which prohibited taking of migratory birds with traps, snares, nets, rifles, pistols, swivel guns, battery guns, shotguns larger than 10gauge,fish hooks, poison, drugs, or stupefying substances. Section (6) should also restrict take of waterfowl while in possession of This section should also state that the goose possession limit is 6 geese, no more than 4 of which may be dark geese. 6) No mention in any section of these rules requires persons to have on their person a valid Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp.
