But some people will be unable to shop at all without your help. Some of our countries veterans in the VA Hospitals cannot even afford coats and socks for themselves, let alone gifts for members of their families. Tim American Legion Auxiliary is organizing a drive to provide used mens and womens clothing and new gift items to the hospital in Salt Lake. They will welcome any donations of these items, or cash contributions. The Veterans Hospital is set up to provide help to veterans, with those hi the most need having first priority. Many come in without slippers, socks, or even coats, according to Susan Frazier, local Auxiliary president. Socks are a top priority item in the clothing room; however, any adult clothing items will be accepted. Articles in need of repair should be marked so the repairs can be taken care of before the clothing is sent to Salt . Lake. The gift shop is set up so that those veterans who are unable to pay for gifts may go in and select items for members of their families, and those items will then be wrapped and sent to the families of the patients. Consequently, the gift shop is in need of nice new gifts for all ages. There is' a greater shortage of gifts for teenage boys, so those items would be especially appreciated, Frazier said.
