We v. ould like to personally let them know of our appreciation for their outstanding efforts in the performance of their assigned tasks. Time after time as we worked with the National, State and Local law enforcement officials, they were grateful for the professionalism with which the Guard members performed their tasks. The Guard members demonstrated that they are true heroes in every sense of the world. Their families and the patrons, who came to experience the Olympic Games, should be proud of the quality of these dedicated troops. Many individuals expressed their sincere appreciation to the Guard members as they performed their security tasks. To those individuals, we say, thank you for the recognition of these citizen soldiers. To the employers of the citizen soldiers who served during this military activation, Thank you for allowing the Guard members, many of whom are your best employees, the opportunity to serve when called'. These employees are proudly representing you and your support is crucial to their success. As senior leaders in the Utah Army National Guard, we recognize the sacrifices you make to employ National Guard members. We as leaders, work diligently to train your employees, in leadership tasks, dedication, loyalty and sendee, all of which we believe will enhance the performance of their duties as your employees. Again, thank you for your support. The final and most sincere THANKS, goes to the citizen soldier and their family. We know firsthand, the sacrifices you make and of those trials that your family suffers while you are absent. You must know that your sendee is greatly appreciated and your efforts have not gope unnoticed. We salute each and every one of you for your dedication, your sendee and your willingness to answer the call. May we always stand united. We agree completely with the young child who approached a Guard member and said, I think it should be a soldier who lights the torch, because they represent all the many sacrifices that have been made to insure our freedom". We sincerely echo that comment, to us each individual Guard member is a torchbearer and plays a significant part in protecting our freedom in the future. COL(P) Patrick D. Im Wyatt Cox and you are used to hearing me do commentaries on KUTA, or you have listened on the weekends to my Old Time Radio" shows. Phil Mueller tells me that KUTA has gone silent - the economic pressure has been too great. KUTA has succumbed to the same blight that has crushed so many other hometown radio stations across this nation over the last ten years. Now it has happened in your hometown. It is not something which is pleasant, but it is something over the past five years that I, too, have had to face, as I have had to turn the switch on a couple of sta- tions. To you, the many people who have been so kind, who have been so appreciative of our commentaries, who got up and listened to us at four oclock in the morning... I cant thank you enough. Your many and continued support have made it all possible. And to the advertisers, I can only echo Phils wishes and say Thank E-ma- 0894-327- 3 Published weakly at 48 South Mam, MonnceKo.Uiati Periodical poatage paid at Montwetto.
