Stocks, who took the position last August, submitted a letter of resignation to the Grand County School Board during a closed session following last weeks February 20 board meeting. He said that his resignation is unrelated to any of the issues raised by citizens at the school board meeting. uIts bad timing and makes it look like that, he said, but I made this decision a month ago. I had a letter ready to give the Board that night." During the meeting, area citizens criticized the way the school district handled several recent incidents that occurred on school property, including reports of a high school student dressed in a black trench coat chasing or threatening another boy with something that looked like a sawed off shot- Dec. The drought figures are daunting: snowpack water content is at 56 percent of normal, runoff is predicted at 55 percent of normal, and precipitation is 26 percent of normal for the year so far. When snowpack is less than 60 percent, we have to start looking at the possibility of administering the shortage, said the manager of the Dolores Water Conservancy District.
