JURY FAILED TO AGREE the charge of murder still hangs over nan patterson new york having failed to reach a verdict and declaring that they were hopelessly disagreed the jury in the nan patterson case was formally dis charged at 2 20 clock thursday morning miss patterson collapsed on the wy announcement and tainted dead away she was assisted the court room by one of her counsel and re ived in an anteroom recorder gott before dismissing the jury cautioned them not to tell how they stood it Is understood that a majority of ahe jury were for acquit ta but in what proportion they stood cannot be ascertained future procedure in the case Is un certain it has been intimated by the district attorneys office that the peo pie probably would not attempt an other trial should this be the case miss patterson would be released either on nominal ball or under her own recognizance and the indictment eventually be quashed
