Show FI TEST RUN, Friday, April 19, 1968 Weather Hampers Pistol Team During Sixth Army Matches The Dugwiy Pistol Team returned last weekend from the Sixth Army Pistol Matches at Ft. Old, Calif, held April COMPETING FOR Dugway were LT Cary Murphy, OIC Specialist 1 David Knight, Specialist 4 Terry Grady and PFC Michael McGrath. Although poor weather conditions hampered the shooters during the first two days of the match, winning scores were extremely high. Competitors represented active and reserve Army, National Guard, Air Force and Navy personnel from installations within the fith Army area. Approximately 150 shooters competed IN TEAE competition the Dugway team met stiff opposition and although the scores turn-i- n by Dugway were some of the best ever recorded by the team, no team trophies were won. FRYERS FRYERS 3-LEGGED 3-BREASTED FRESH CUT-U- P FRYER Dugway Cub Scout Pack 581 held its annual Pine Car Derby, Mar. 29, at the Fries Park Chapel Cultural HalL LaEarl Peck and Elston Peck, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Peck of Dugway, took 1st and 2nd place respectively, and 3rd (dace was won by Duane Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Davis of Grantsville. The best looking car was won by Brandon Kuddes, son of Mrs. Colleen Kuddes of Terra. The derby is run on a gravity driven track, built out of pine boards that carry the small derby cars on die sloping track. Apr. 5, the Dugway Cub Scout Pack traveled to Tooele to participate in the Tooele LDS Stake pine car derby, and Randy Henderson, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan H. Final standings of die league after the final night of bowling on April 12 are first, team 4; second, team 1; third, team 2. Team 4 collected 61 wins and 28 losses. High average for the league went to Red Kiik with a 178. ' Going into the final niit of bowling, teams 1 and 2 were one game apart and second place could go either way. A weekend handicap tourney is scheduled for April 20 and 21. Saturday will be doubles play and Sunday is singles. Entry fee is 5 per person per match of three games. Everyone can bowl but in the doubles one partner must be either military or a Dugway employee.
