For ladies Or GfcU DHS Drops Two League Games As Season Opens Dugway High School baseball team dropped its first two games of the season last week, losing the opener to Crantsville, 7-on April 3, and bowing to St. Francis, on April 5. BOTH LOSSES were in Region Five competition. In the opener, Dugway scored both its runs against Crantsville in the first frame. With two out, Dennis Lowe got a base hit and moved to second on a walk to Mike Neito. Lowe and Neito pulled a double steal and scored an Dennis Madsens double to left. CRANTSVILLE CAME right back in the bottom of the first inning to tie the score, 2 as Foote experienced control difficulties. The Cowboys got only one hit in the inning, but took advantage of three walks and two stolen bases to knot the score. Crantsville added three more runs in the second frame, off two hits, two errors, a stolen base and a fielders choice. The Cowboys added another in the fourth on a home run by Didericksen, the shortstop. Crantsville finished die scoring in die fifth with another run. Dugway was led at the plate by Dennis Lowe who collected two hits in three trips. Tom Donnelly, Mike Neito and Dennis Madsen had the other hits. A total of 16 Dugway batters went down via the strikeout route off Grantsvilles Anderson. IN THE game against St. Francis, Dugway tallied both their runs in the fourth inning on base hits by Foote and Neito. St. Francis came back in the bottom of the inning to take a 2 lead with a pair of runs on two hits, and a fielder's choice. St. Francis scared their first two runs in the third frame on a pair pf hits, an error and three stolen 2-- Heads League AFter two weeks of action in the Dugway Proving Ground Intramural Volleyball League, the 65th Military Police Platoon is heading the pack with a 3--1 record. The Officers Open Mess and Civilians Number One are rigfit on the heels of the MP boys, however, with 1 marks each. Headquarters Company is holding down fourth place currently in games through April 6 with a 3--2 slate. Fifth place goes to the Medical Detachment with a 2 record, while CBR and Civilians Number Two are tied for sixth with 3 marks. The only loss on the MP record is a setback at the hands of Civilians Number One on the opening night of play. The MP team has wins over HHC, the Medical Detachment and CBR. The only loss on the Officers slate is to Civilians Two, while wins have come over Civilians One and HHC. Civilians One have lost only to the Officers, while winning over the MPs and Civilians Two. The medley relay team, composed of Mick Alg, Mark Earlewine, Bruce McCullough and Tom Reeder, took a first place also. Dave Palmer took two seconds and a fourth. He was second in die high hurdles and the shot put, while finishing fourth in the low hurdles. Sur also picked up two third place finishes in the d dash and the low hurdles. Kay Neilson was second in the d dash with a time of 11-seconds, nipping Sur by one second. Neilson also took a Mcood in the 440 run, while McCullough was second in the mile run. REEDER placed third in the 220 run with a time of 27 seconds flat. Mark Heriem was third in the 880 run, with Earlewine taking fourth. Dennis Madsen placed third in the discus, while Clyde Rassmussen took fourth. The 880 relay team, composed of Reeder, Sur, Neilson and Alg, placed second as did the mile relay team, composed of Steve Wallace, Earlewine, Hereim and Neilson.
