Show THURSDAY. OCT. Mother, Daughter Favorites A. i Clubs The Spring Creek DUP camp met at the home of Adrienne Beckstead in Whitney last week. Captain, Nona Golightly, presided arid conducted. Marian Ballif gave the lesson, In 1872. Ida Prescott gave the history of Salome Leann Hammond. Mildred Weaver and daughter Linda sang a duet, with Venna Oliverson as accompanist. Others present were Ethel Moekli, who was cohostess, and Afton Beckstead, Agatha Alder, Freda Ra ns bottom, Rhonda Poole and Elna Alder. The hostesses served pumpkin pie and apple cider. Mrs. Orlene Iamont of Fair-vie- w had the Friendly Nine club at her home Thursday evening. Those present were Bonita Oliverson, IaVerna Wanner, Ethel Moekli, Alice Smith, Nadine Fryar, Mozcll Owen, and guest, Roma Hall. A dinner was served and they played pinochle during the evening. Mrs. Smith won high and Mrs. Moekli second high. Mrs. Rosie Nelson hosted her bridge club associates ThursDunn, day evening for In-nBillie Lou Butterfield, Norma Hale, Joice Bambrough, Elizabeth Boyd and two guests, Ruth Nash and Lois Nash. There were four winners, Ruth and Lois, Norma and Lorna. Party snacks were served. DON (reaves. Other members Inraa Dunn, Fay Foss and Ixdlenc Foss. A dessert and drink were served. Helen Merrill had club Friday evening. Present were Viola Ora Greaves, Merle Idanu Greaves, Ruth Weber, Phyllis Acock and hostess guest, Ito!erta West. ELMER 0L1VERS0N Salad AndCookies Mrs. Elmer (Loenza) Oliver-so- n and her daughter, Peggy, have been sharing the family kitchen since Peggy was little more than a toddler. She is almost 16 now, a sophomore at Preston High, and member of Future Homemakers of Amer ica. She enjoys drawing freehand with pencil and pastels. Mrs. Oliverson for many years has furnished casserole dishes, cakes and cookies to church socials and parties as well as the PTA organization and other community projects. She and Peggy have been active in contributing their creations at the recent county fairs. The Olivcrsons have recently moved into a new home, just completed on the spot their old one occupied. They have another (laughter besides Peggy and two sons. Peggy has offered her recipe for spice bars because they are one of her favorite sweets. She admits that they are very easy to make, too. Mrs. Oliversons contribution this week is her holiday jello salad, which she makes each Christmas and Thanksgiving. This salad is a tradition at their holiday table. Tuesday afternoon, bridge club members met with hostess, Betty McCune, at her home. Those present were Lavinia Cutler, Lorna Dunn, LaRene Foss, Ora Greaves, Florence Reeves, Norma Hale and Nor-en- e Warr of Logan. There were five winners. A dessert was served. The Preston Duplicate Bridge was held Sept. 23 at the Utah Power auditorium at 1:30.
