Show 2 THURSDAY, OCT. THE CITIZEN 5, 1972 Mink Creeker Family To Honor Feted At Party Charles Checketts Providence, Ut., Oct. 13, 1892 to William and Mary Ann Reading Checketts. He has lived in the Preston and Cache Valley area the' majority of his life, spending 15 years in California from 1942 until 1957, and four years in Morgan, Ut. He spent 40 years working in sugar factories. He is a member of the Preston Lions Club. He has been an enthusiastic gardener most of his life. Mr. Checketts was married to Margaret Jane Foote Aug. 17, 1916 in Providence, Ut., and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple in May, 1920. C. Beecher (Geo) Udy of Salt Lake Gty, Mrs. DeRay (Mary) Lindsay of Redondo Beach, Calif., Mrs. Vernon (Lola) Weinreich of West Bend, Wis., and Mrs. Russell (Beryl) E shorn of Castro Valley, Calif. They have 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. MINK CREEK Thursday evening, Mrs. Viola Larsen was the honored guest on her birthday at a dinner party in Logan at the Grandview Cafe. All members of her family attended. They included Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lester of Salt Lake Gty, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Doran Barlow, Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Blotter and Mrs. Dorthea Bell of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Larsen of Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. Raylo Larsen and her husband Norman. She was presented with an orchid and a book of poems. FAREWELL CONCERT A farewell concert will be given by the Village Voices of the Utah State University Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Chase Fine Arts Theater. Kelly Shuld-ber- g of Smithfield Is a member of the singing group. His father, Howard Shuldberg, was born and raised in Winder and attended grade school In Winder and Preston high school. He is a nephew of Mrs. Rawson (Elva) Taylor. A response from Bishop Loyal Hansen was given and he and his wife sang two duets. Lenna Peterson gave a thought on "Love. C., the past week visiting with her son Rex and family.
