Show Newcomers Club STANDARD-Octo- The Halloween theme was carried out at the Oct. 19, Newcomers club luncheon held at the Frontier Grill. Twenty eight members and guests enjoyed a swiss steak lunch. Winners of the table decorations made by Jay Houston and Barbara Undhjien 35, 1973 ber were Shirley Malenski, Jan llardv. Shir ley iAwrence, Karleune Baggett. V- - ,'.V. 0 TOOT Harriet Gladys Ross was born Feb. 13, 1905 in Lakeview, Tooele Co. to Marvin G. and Marion Sagers Shields and moved to Redcap with her family in 1915. Marion and Gladys were married Nov. 7, 1923. The marriage was later solom-nizein the Salt Lake Temple June 12, 1929. They lived in Arcadia until 1954 when they moved to Pleasant Valley. Farming kept them busy until 1970 when they sold their farm to their youngest son Mothers Club held d Lanny, and moved to Roosevelt. Marion is now Building inspector for Roosevelt City and Duchesne County and is the President of the 5th ward Sunday School. Gladys is serving a two year Stake mission for the LDS church. They are the parents of seven children, Loryn S., Pleasant Valley: Mrs. Orlean Labrum, Tremonton; Mrs. Bob (Shirley) Ernest, Alla Loma, Calif.; Marvin Leon, Larry S. and Lanny Wayne, Pleasant Valley and Allen Dale, deceased. They have 29 grandchildren and 16 great grandchldren. Enrhiladas one 10 oz. ran enchilada aaure one 10 oz ran tomato soup 1 cup bouillon, canned 1 lb. ground beef or more 2 chopped onions 1 small can sliced olives 2 rups grated rheese 18 tortillas 1 clove garlic (optional) 1 Tbs. oregeno Make a sauce by combining first three ingredients, and a finely chopped clove of garlic. Heat thoroughly. Brown slowly in a frying pan, ground hoof and chopped onions, frying until onions are lender, then drop the tortillas in hot fat. just until softened. Take from the fat and dip each one in the sauce, and take out and lay on a plate. Add about two tablespoons, of the meat mixture to each one, sprinkle with cheese and olive slirrs. Roll up each tortilla closely and fasten with a toothpick. Curt Baslian returned home last Tuesday after spending two weeks in the Vernal and a Salt Lake hospitaL Ralph Prescott fell off his horse and was k irked in the face last week. They had to take him to Salt Lake for surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Labrum spent the weekend in Salt Lake. Lane Yack who is attending school was home over the weekend for the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Dye and family, Mr. and Mrs. IjsDcII Dye and family, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Freston and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Dye spent the weekend home with Mr. and Mrs. Deloss Dye.
