Show THE CITIZEN 14 FISHERMAN JOE DECIDES TO TAKE LONG JOURNEY. FISHERMAN JOE, famous Salt Lake City fisherman, was busily engaged in tying pots and pans to the side of the car, which was scheduled to take him to parts unknown, or rather, where high class fishing abounds in profusion. Joe, it must be understood, has been doing the same thing since Grant took Richmond, and the looks of his car would make one think that Grant had driven it when the famous battle was won. Be that as it may, Joe continued his labors, and was practically ready to start out when Harmonica Pete, an- other fisherman of high repute, drove up. Well, well, and are you going to try and force that old hack into an- other summer of service? greeted Pete. Pete, say what you will about this boat, but remember that busses and hacks have very little to do with the catching of fish. My reputation is built on nipping the finny species, and was established long before Henry ever thought of Lizzie. That may be true, but nawadays they dont bring the streams to your back door, and you have to be assured of getting there before fishing becomes an art. All right, Pete, Ill grant that, but whats wrong with my car ? Ill admit it doesnt look so good, but let me gurgle that she is in tip top shape. Where are you going this year, Joe? First, I am going to try my luck on the Provo, and then follow south and incidentally, take in some of the great scenic wonders of which Utah is so proud. A dandy trip, but Im still a little worried about that puddle jumper. Cut the worry, Pete, cause Ive had her overhauled, and just yesterday I took it to Skid Evans, and told him what I contemplated doing, and he says to me that when he gets through Lizzie would be a dinger. You must remember, Pete, that Skid doesnt do any repairing, but when I picked up the old bus this morning he informed me that he had greasel it thoroughly, looked over the batteries, drained the crank case (and he dont charge for that), filled it with oil, and put on four new Goodrich Silvertown tires, and, Pete, Ill leave it to you if I aint equipped to take a Stadl ftlhi trip. Well, I guess you are, if youve had Skid Evans do your greasing, feletc, cause Ive heard a lot of that ler, and they tell me he keeps only expert workmen on his payroll. You dont mean to tell me that you have never met Skid Evans, Pete? No, I have not, but I think I will go and see him right now, before I start for the Weber. Now youre talking, because the essential of being a good fisherman is having a car that will get you there without a lot of unnecessary grief, and when Skid tells you she is ready, forget everything but putting the old fly on the hook. Slong, Joe, and by the way, Skid is located on Fourth South street, right alongside the Newhouse hotel, isnt he? Yep, and drive right in, Pete, cause he gives you person attention. Good luck and slong. A REAL CAMPAIGN. (in a fluttering Oh, splendid! You got Young Mother whisper): baby to sleep!
