Show Becky are well known in their own right. Both have received many honors for talent. Both were winners of the Talent Show Case, a television program and t 18 STANDARD January 17. 1974 The Board and members of the Duchesne city Chamber of Commerce wish to use this opportunity to extend a sincere and grateful thank you to Barbara Christiansen. Barbara has been involved in the Chamber from day one and has contributed many long hours, along with a lot of hard work to insure a successful Chamber of Commerce in Duchesne City. She has been the elected Secretary-Treasure- r tor the Chamber and in addition to all her duties as a board member Bar barta has been writing the Scroll each week. Barbara has resigned her position with the Chamber in order to return to school and complete her degree in Education. I'm sure I speak for every member of the Chamber in wishing Barbara a very successful year, (and a speedy return!!) This week we'd like to shed some light on the Wit's End! When you drive through Duchesne it's the cute little store on the south side of the street, with the shank shingles across the front! Gerry and Barbara Christiansen are the proud owners and operators The Wit's End and you can find their warm personality in every piece of merchandise throughout the store. They specialize in cloth materials and patterns, followed by notions, yarns, flowers and many fun arts and crafts. A community thanks for two years of a job well done and a New Year's wish towards a successful 1974. I believe a New Year's Resolution is in order this week. The Duchesne City Chamber of Commerce was established by the people of Duchesne, for the people of Duchesne. Therefor, our Resolution for 1974 shall be to gain support from and involve every person in our community that, feels our area is a good cause and warrants a lot of individual participation and interst. The Chamber Board has set forth many important goals for 1974 and will need the help of every Duchesne community member, if we are to have a successful year. Stand Up - Support your chamber and your community!!! The Board of Directors is pleased to report that the recent membership drive has been an overwhelming success. Anticipated membership for the first fiscal year has been set at 50 members. So, we are very proud to tell you that approximately 99 members are registered with the Chamber of Commerce. I believe a big pat on the back is due to John Stafford and the committee that worked on this drive. Individual interest and participation is what the Chamber requires in order to be successful. A big thanks to every person that has taken time out to support out chamber and community.
