Show Auxiliary holds bazaar & luncheon American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 22, Ducheane, recently held ita annual bazaar and luncheon. With a public luncheon under the direction of Mr. Carolyn Mad-aeand bazaar arrangement taken care of by Mr. Maxine Burdick and Mrs. Alice Hadden, the proceed will help cupport various American Legion Auxiliary pron ject. Mrs. Barbara Meriwether was in accharge of finances for the tivities. Held at the American Legion hall in Duchesne, the bazaar featured items made by Auxiliary members. fund-raisin- g Culture Club meets Culture club held their first meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. Ora Labrum. Dennis Moses gave a fine program with slides of Japan. One guest, Beverly Evans was present and seventeen members. A luncheon was served by hostess Ora Labrum and Clara Timothy. Ladies aid WILL MARRY The regular social program meeting of Ladies Aid of the Myton Presbyterian Church wu held Friday, Januiry 11, at the church with members bringing a serving of dessert. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Ruby Higley, to serve as vice presinewly dent. Announcement was made of the change in prices for quilting, as well as the Ladies Aid allotment for mission giving in clothing items. Program chairman, Mrs. Dixie Brown, led a discussion on types of programs available for the year, with members voting to use a study book by Colleen Townsend Evans, using a chapter each meeting for discussion. The February meeting will also be held at the church with Mrs. Florence Lott and Mrs. Fannie Felter as and Mrs. Dorothy Walker in charge of the program. Some of the ladies remained after the meeting to remove decorations left from the holidays and to clean the sanctuary. JIM MANOOKIN Mr. and Mrs. Syerl R. Dennis of Orem announce the engagement of their daughter Irene Dennis to James Haugan Manookin son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Manook in, also of Orem. Irene is a former student of Union high school, Roosevelt Utah and a graduate of Orem high school, where she participated in A Cappella Choir. She is a four year IDS Seminary graduate, attended Provo Technical College and is presently a Junior at Brigham Young University, where she is also employed. Jim Manookin graduated from Provo high school where he participated in A Cappella Choir, and was in the Key dub. A four year Seminary graduate and recently returned from New Zealand where he served a mission for the LDS church. He is presently employed in Orem and attending Brigham Young University. The couple plan a February 7 wedding in the Provo Temple. They will live in Orem and continue their schooling. January 24 The Altrus club met Thursday, January 10 at the home of Nedra Nickell. A salad luncheon was served to 24 members and Renae Chasel reviewed the novel, Roanoke Hundred" by Inglis Fletcher. The next meeting will be held January 24, at the home of Dora Curry. Out of the basin relatives who attended the funeral for Tyson Miller, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyn Miller was his grandmother, Mrs. John Gilbert, Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carlson, Carson City, Nev.; and Mrs. Shana 0 Bradovitch, Glendale, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Munn are the parents of a baby girl born Dec. 14 in Santa Mari, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Hullinger are the grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Nielson and family returned to their home at San Pablo, Calif., recently after enjoying a two weeks visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vere Nielson. Mrs. Christina Nation returned Saturday from a trip which took her to many interesting places, she spent a month in Las Vegas, Nev., with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Neilson, after Christmas she went on a tour and was at Pasadena, Calif., New Years Day for the Rose parade. Mrs. Vera Larsen, St. George, and a former resident of Arcadia accompanied Christina on the tour. A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Gilbert Jan. 7 at the Duchesne County hospital. This makes three boys and one daughter for the Gilbert's. Florida. While there they visited Sea World and Disney World at Orlando and Cape Kennedy. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Murray were Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Hansen, Durango, Colo.; and Mr. and Mrs. Venoy Davies, Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen were enroute to Montana to attend the funeral for Mr. Hansen's brother. Mrs. Thelma Barlow visited during the week in Salt Lake with her niece and family Mr. and Mrs. Mark Jones. Mrs. Arvin Labrum went to Salt Lake over the weekend to Market week. Mrs. Elmer Eldredge and Burke spent last week in Denver doing some buying for the store. Mr. and Mrs. Burke Eldredge visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lloyd, Salt Lake. They also attended to business. A testimonal honoring Ronald Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ardon Evans, was held Sunday in Sacrament meeting. He will enter the mission home, Jan. 19, he will serve in the Alaskan Canadian mission. Rasmussen. The new Mrs. Rasmussen is the former Jane Thacker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Thacker, Whiterocks. Rodney is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gale Rasmussen, also of White-rockThe newlyweds exchanged wedding vows in the Relief Society room of the Neola ward chapel, January 12. Bishop Blayne Morrill officiated at the double ring ceremony. A reception honored the young couple the same evening, and the pair greeted their guests against a pink backdrop with lighted columns on either side. Fresh bouquets of red roses, pink carnations and mums were placed around the cultural hall in the Neola ward chapel where the reception was held. The bride looked lovely in a floor length gown of white, styled with a skirt of fine knit, appliqued with lace. The dress was styled with a low round neckline, with a seperate choker collar. Both collar and bodice were of lace and the sleeves were long, sheer nylon. Her veil fell from a petaled comb covered with lace. Her bouquet was deep red roses, pink carnations, and baby breath with pink and cranberry colored ribbon. LaRae Simmons served the bride as Matron of honor and was dressed in a pink floor length gown styled princess style with a high neckline and short puffed sleeves, she carried flowers of pink mums and cranberry ribbon, surrounded by baby breath. Jackie Thacker, Sherry Kae Rasmussen and Debbie Mackie, served as bridesmaids and wore gowns similar to that worn by the Matron of honor, except that they were of differnt colors. Their flo wers were the same, as those the matron carried. Mothers of both the bride and groom were dressed in gowns of pink double knit, floor length, with long sleeves and a set in bodice. Both wore corsages of deep red roses and pink carnations. Serving the groom as best man was Chad Wilkerson. The wedding cake was four tiered, white with pink roses and wedding bells. The bottom layer was square ana rested and pedestals with a miniature boy and girl bride and groom sat on a bench in the center. The top layer's had roses cascading from the top down the sides. Those in charge of serving were Cheryl Rasmussen, Carma and Carla Quick, and Lora Arrowchis. Helping in the kitchen were Leah Haslem, Verna Hoopes and Edna Simmons. Those in charge of gifts were Sharon Birchell, Jessie Roberts and Lynette Wright. Laurie O'Neil sat at the guest book. Verl Haslem, was master of ceremonies for a program which consisted of musical numbers sang by Toni Weaver, Jim Bandmann, Dorothy Luck and Jack Christensen. Robin Luck played musical selections on the organ during the reception. The bride chose as her going away ensemble a navy blue pantsuit. KIRBY CO. Socialette club held Recipe of the Week Jonuory 17, Report Regular 11 A.M. worship services at the Myton Community Presbyterian Church Sunday, January 13, were under the direction of Gay Lincoln, of Central Christian Church in Salt Lake, who leads the services once a month. He spoke on the individual's need for counsel and guidance from God. A fellowship dinner was shared with the Lincoln family following the worship hour. Services for Sunday, January 20, will be given by a member of the Myton congregation.
