She was bom July 7, 1932 in Malad, Ida., to Donald J. and Bertha Roderick Howard. Lois graduated from Davis High School and attended LDS the Married She married Rodney Dickson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1954. They were later divorced. She worked at HAFB the past 15 years in accounting. She held various positions in the LDS Church. She is survived by her children, Kevin Dickson, Midlothian, VA.; Susan John (Lynette) Dickson, all of Kaysville; three grandsons, Joseph Ryan and Hayden Dickson; her mother; brothers and sisters, Ethel (Harris) Adams, Thella (Alan) Weaver, Donald (Geri) Howard, Roderick (Pat) Howard and Dee Lynn (Pam) Howard and many Hibbard, friends. She was a devoted mother who always gave more than she took. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her determination in conquering critical health problems in her life. Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at the Kaysville 7th Ward under the direction of Lindquists Grace Burrows Balderston. University of Utah. Dickson, BOUNTIFUL Bertha Balderston John, 82, passed away Oct. 26, 1993 at the South Davis Community Hospital. She was born July 4, 1911 in Bountiful, to Francis Marion and Mabel Business College and Bertha Balderston John Kaysville Mortuary. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery. Fred Wilson Jan. 25, 1941. He died March 1, 1950. Married Ralph Paul John March 8, 1958. He died April 22, 1969. Bertha was a dedicated school teacher and teaching was the love of her life. She taught inDavis County and 35 years in El Paso, Texas. She is survived by her brother, Richard E. Balderston and his wife, Beth. Bountiful; two sisters, Frances (Joseph) Larsen and Madeline Larsen. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Grace Hibbard and Ruth Donley. The parents session will be Thursday evening, Nov. 4 at Viewmont High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. Coleen Kelly Mast, M.S., who wrote and developed the sex respect program will be the guest speaker. She is a nationally recognized authority and this will be the first time she has ever presented in Utah. Her subject will be How Can Parents Teach Sex' Respect in the 90s. The parents evening is free. On Friday, Nov. 5 the professional session will be presented in the Viewmont Nov. 4 Auditorium at 8:15 a.m. Coleen Kelly Mast will be the keynote speaker with Sex Respect Education with Confidence and Not Controversy. She will be followed by JoAnn Larsen, DSW with Communicating with Teens.
