Show 1 i My Dear ,ll . I Friends: I have become you 71 years since I saw last and a few changes have come into my life since then: Frankly, I have become quite a frivolous oljd gal! I am seeing five gentlemen every day: As soon as I wake up, Will Power helps me get out of bed. Then he leaves and I go to see John. Then Charley Horse comes along, and when he is here he takes a lot of my time and attention. When he leaves, Arthur Ritis shows up and stays the rest of the day. He doesnt like to stay in one place very long, so he takes me from joint to joint. After such a busy day, I am really tired and glad to go to bed with Ben Gay. What a life! Author Unknown (Submitted by Margaret Isom) Margaret also told me an interesting experience she had with her mirrors. She accidentally cleaned them with a h product instead of her regular window cleaner. At first they looked right, but when they dried a bad film remained. She tried removing the film with an ammonia solution. She tried that several times, in fact. Then she tried kerosene. No luck, the film remained. Finally she tried plain water. The film diappeared and the mirrors came out sparkling clean. My mother used to say soap and water would clean anything. Sometimes I think she was wiser than she knew. At any rate, I have observed that spots on polyester fabrics will respond to rubbing with real soap (not detergent) when nothing else seems to help. Dear Vi: I have a small dish drainer in one of my cupboards in which to stand pot lids, pie plates, cake pans, trivets, hot plates and any flat pans. You can quickly see what you want, and the cupboard is no longer cluttered as it used to be. Enid Bartholomew, Escondido, Calif. What a good idea. For a low cupboard, I might also suggest setting the drainer on a shallow flat box that can be pulled out like a drawer to help you find even more quickly the lid you want. v U wjk Dear Vi: ;. ) I have several ideas to share: A good place to keep bread dough warm so that it will rise quickly is on the top of a clothes dryer in use. Save the small brushes that come with different kinds of makeup to use when dusting figurines or any small spaces. For lunches, bake sheet cakes in square layer pans. Split the cake horizontally spread frosting on the bottom part, then lay the top on that. This way, the frost stays on the cake instead of sticking to the wrapping. pre-was- A ; t Five Generations Aaron Bart Reynolds, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bart Reynolds, Aurora, is held by great great grandmother, Margaret Nelson, 91, Redmond.
