According to Beckstead, a car driven by Hae Yung Lee, 29, Flushing, N. Y., was southbound and was just ahead of the Taylor vehicle. It attempted to pass a car, and was unable to complete the pass, so it pulled back into the southbound lane. Beckstead said witnesses stated the Lee car suddenly applied its brakes, resulting in Mr. Taylor applying his brakes to avoid a rear-en- d collision, and sending the Taylor vehicle into the northbound lane of traffic where it smashed with the Thorson car. Salina Library Closes Until Aug. 29 head-o- n Lee was apprehended in Richfield a few minutes later by Trooper Joe Bennett, who brought him back to the accident scene. Beckstead said Lee was charged with reckless driving and taken before North Sevier Precinct Judge Kent Nielsen who set bail at $299. Trooper Jim Reynolds, who is heading the investigation, said other citations are pending investigation by his department and the Sevier County Attorneys Office. Lee posted bail and was released pending further court action. The Salina City Public Library has officially closed until Monday, August 29. librarian Louella Long says there a box on the library porch to put books into while the library is closed.
