Show 3B Lakeside Review, Wednesday, May 4, 1988 Area power tumblers qualify for AAU Junior Olympics Five students from the gymnastics studio in Lay-to- n qualified to go to the AAU Junior Olympic national age group championships in power tumbling to be held in Lubbock, Texas in late May. The students qualified for the meet by placing in the top three overall in the advanced division of the Regional power tumbling meet held in Casper, Wyo. Nine other students from the also finished the regional competition in the top 10 in their respective divisions. High-Flie- rs . ' Power tumbling competitions consist of two or three tumbling passes down a long, narrow runway in which participants com- plete five to 10 skills per pass, both frontward and backward. . Only students who place in the advanced division are eligible to go on to national competition.
