The trucks were bid at $23,592 and $27,992, both below the $42,000 each set aside in the city's budget. Director of Public Works, Terry Coburn, said the city would try an automatic transmission in one of the large trucks to see if it would cut down on clutch repair costs. and down-tim- e The costs of the trucks does not include beds, sanders, radios, or plows, but Coburn said the needed equipment could still be be purchasing added at costs within the amounts set aside in the budget. Institutes call area mayors Three area mayors recently attended meetings of the new Utah Mayors Institute in either Park City or Brian Head. Mayor Larry Ashdown of Sunset and Mayor DeLore W. Thur-goo- d of Syracuse attended a y meeting in July in Park City, while Mayor Richard McKenzie of Layton attended an identical workshop Aug. at Brian Head.
