Show Area growth chronicled in I special edition Pages filled with stories on history, community, people In the past couple of decades, northern Davis County and Roy City have experienced one of the most rapid rates of growth of any area in the United States. Growth brings change and the lakeside area has seen changes in nearly every aspect of the community. The Lakeside Review noted its fifth anniversary of publication in August. The newspaper has grown with the community and has recorded events in government and in the lives of people. To observe the newspapers anniversary and the progress of the lakeside area and its residents, our staff has assembled this special Progress Edition. In the following pages, we take a look at the areas history, its people, economic developments and community improvements. In the first edition of what we plan to be an annual section, we have touched on only a sampling of the tremendous growth and change taking place here. In putting th$ section together, we have been impressed with the people who make progress happen, dozens of people volunteering hundreds of hours to make the community run smoothly. There are many more people who deserve to be included in a Progress Edition and we hope to involve more of them next year. After several months of interviewing, photographing and conversing with the people of Davis County and Roy, the Lakeside Review staff has become collectively convinced that this area is, for the most part, one of honest, intelligent, ambitious people; businesses that operate efficiently to provide the services the people need; governments directed by diligent, conscientious public officials and a history rich in tradition and a stalwart pioneer heritage. A special thanks for this first Progress Edi- - tion must go to the Lakeside Review correfrom spondents, a group of writers who work their homes in the various communities we cover and who diligently keep their fingers on the pulse of the 1 cities in the Lakeside area. that They have turned their ideas into stories arthe of and reflect the character personality will readers enjoy. our ea in a way we hope 1 Our correspondent staff includes Lyndia Graham, Darlene Mix, Ruth Malan, Susar.
