Show vV i Sunset wins county volleyball crown Lakeside Review, Wednesday, October 30, 1985 ;2B i As 4 , w , V Sunset, a perennial powerhouse of Davis County junior high girls volleyball, was considered to be experiencing a down year this season by just about everyone. Everyone but themselves and coach Christie Nicholas. Sunset captured the county championship by defeating North 1 last week. Davis 15-This was a particularly sweet 8, 15-1- championship because no one expected us to win, Nicholas said. I knew we could, but nobody else did, she said. Sunset, 2 on the season, finished second to North Davis in the north division, but struggled e series against even in the lowest placed teams, Nicholas 9-- five-gam- said. Because Sunset had struggled to win against even lesser opponents, most thought the team would end its string of finishing first or second in the county in each of the last 10 seasons. Sunset has finished in first 15-which won Bountiful it the right to play for the county title. 16-1- 4, 8, The team was led by team place five times and second five times during that period. The team peaked at just the right time, Nicholas said. Those interested can register at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 40 South 125 East in Clearfield, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hour classes will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. An hour class will be offered from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. There is also an hour class offered on Wednesdays and Fridays at 4:15 p.m. The cost for this class is $7. A half-hobeginning class is offered at 8:15 to 8:45 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, the cost is $5. All classes are held in the Clearfield Fire Station. All classes start the week of Nov. 12. Layton Rec offers 8. daytime aerobics Wildlife Board sets angler regs meeting The Utah Wildlife Board will meet to set 1986 fishing regulations Friday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. in the Division of Wildlife Resources Salt Lake City office, 1596 West North Temple. The meeting is open to the public. The Board will also consider a request from the state of Nevada for Utah pronghorn antelope and review recommendations for license revocations. Layton City Recreation is offering a Fit and Fun daytime aerobics class. The class will be taught Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the gymnastic room.
