Principal Lincoln Sorensen presented 270 gold medals, 80 medals and 16 participation certificates to the students. The Olympics program began on Monday, Jan. 7, and featured different reading activities to be accomplished during each of the five weeks. The children took cards home at the beginning of pach week which described the event and activities. The cards, marked with the students accomplishments, were returned to the school each week with an Honesty Certificate signed by both parent and student. ' Sorensen said the national, state and local PTAs have been concerned with the fact that television is filling too many hours of childrens time.
