the Performing Arts on the Weber State College campus This company of young dancers ages 7 to 18 was founded in 1949 by the late Virginia Tanner and is currently directed by Mary Ann Lee The company has won state national and international recognition The evening performance will open with "The Bus Dance" and "Roots and Wings" a technique study which demonstrates the process of dancing in an upbeat way It was originally choreographed by Virginia Tanner "Dancing Man" a work based on the n book of the same title by Ruth was premiered by the company last year and is included in the evening performance This folk tale tells the story of Joseph a young boy who longs to dance The Dancing Man is an older gentleman who teaches Joseph to share his dances with the world The piece is a tribute to Tanner as well as to the late Juan Valuenzuela a teacher at CDT He was the company's own Dancing Man A new piece which is set to the music of Handel's "Water Music" will be presented The work is
