Chris Brinagh, Dixie's wide receiver, and not to mention the nations leader in total yardage, is headed to Idaho State University to play for the Bangles next season. Eric Lockhart, Dixie's former tailback, is soon to be on his way to play for Louisville. Both players signed letters-o- f intent to the schools last week. Brinagh had the choice to show off his skills either at Houston, Utah State University 'or Idaho State University. It wasn't an easy choice, but Brinagh stuck with Idaho State because of their pass- - happy offense. "I had to find someone who would fit my skills and Idaho Rebels State did," Brinagh said. The Bangle's lineup calls for a setup, and only two receivers from last year are returning. Brinagh plans on starting in the rotation. "It is all up to me to start, I just got to go out there and get it," Brinagh said. The other offensive weapon that Dixie will be losing for next season is Eric Lockhart. Dixie's former leading tailback is off to pound the back field in Louisville. Louisville is adding Lockhart to a number of offensive weapons including Heisman hopeful Chris Redman at quarterback. "Everybody is coming back on offense except they lost two tailbacks and one offensive lineman," Lockhart said. Because Louisville lost two of their star tailbacks for next season, Lockhart is also expected to start in the Louisville rotation. three-receiv- er from front "It is fun to get in zones like that where you don't think you can miss," Roban said of his performance. "It's a good thing we did good scoring because we were lazy on defense so it's good we kicked it in offensively." Other players in the scoring for Dixie against SLCC included the big men Rudy Williams who brought in 20 points and 12 rebounds, and twin tower Vance Lawhom had 17 points and six boards. "Mo" Baker had 13 points and eight rebounds, Fred House scored eight points, Khalid Coursey had seven, and Sid Catlett scored two. Same time, same place the next night but a different foe for the Rebels, but that made no difference. The Rebels were home to win. about that "Everything game was a battle. It was hard but a fun game to play," Roban said of the game versus Utah Valley State College. "No one wanted to go out losing, it was our last game at home, and it was just 'ok, how are we going to win this one,' because no one even thought about losing." The Rebels and the Wolverines were tied at intermission of the game at 41 a piece, but Sam Melessa drained double three pointers when Dixie fell behind. The Rebels drove it home to end the game victorious Roban finished the evening and home weekend with 19 points against UVSC, House added 12, Coursey had 11, and Williams scored nine points and pulled down nine rebounds. Catlett also had seven on the night with teammates Melessa and Baker with six and five points each. The Rebels now hold an overall record of 22-- 5 and a league record of 12-- 3 still placing them second in the SWAC. However, if the Rebels can win their remaining three games, they will take the conference 80-7- 7. title. "We are excited about the two big wins and we have positioned ourselves to win the region," Kidder said. "Snow will be a big game, we will have to work on our transition defense, get it into our big guys-Rud- y and Vance, we will need to rebound and keep them off the line." The team standing in the doorway of the region title is first place Snow College that the Rebels will play this weekend in Ephraim. They are one game ahead of Dixie so a win on the road is imperative for the Rebels to take the lead. The following weekend Dixie will travel to play College of Southern Idaho, currently ranked third and Treasure Valley Community Colfree-thro- w lege. "We have to work on our intensity and playing to our ability. If we play like we can we are better than other teams," Roban said about the team's crucial week of practice. "We have to play smart and intense and we will be as good as we want to be."
