Tis the season for sharing and giving. This is the time of the year when everyones heart grows five times bigger than it was originally. Pete Rozelle, the commissioner of the NFL, must of had a talk with Santa Claus about giving things away. After the NFL strike came to an end (who really cares?) a playoff format had to be formed. So Rozelle and his elves worked out one that would fit in fine with the holidays. Rozelle gave a Christmas gift to some of the worst teams in the league. Eight teams from each conference will participate in the playoffs this year. Such powers as Seatde, Green Bay, New Orleans, and Detroit will most likely be in play. At the conclusion of a regular 16 game season, these teams usually receive coal and rocks from Santa, not a precious gift like a playoff spot. I think the NFL is making a sincere mistake. They should have done the fans a favor by canning the season instead of pretending to make it exciting. This season is about as exciting as Nebraska, and the Super Bowl will be as exciting as, watching the Wizard of Oz for the umpteenth time. cure Im happy some teams are . 'rack at the playoffs, but I ,..clle is being a bit too jolley. Anyway, Merry Christmas to Seatde, Green Bay, New Orleans, and Detroit. n C f will face The Rebels, now Utah State JV in Logan this and will host the Wednesday, Colonels Tournament here at Dixie 4-- Tom Wittig It is Christmas post-seaso- i i A on December 10-1- I Shooting over a CSI player is Rebel Gordon Anderson (52).
