The first skier could not go beyond fourth place, as in the previous days giant slalom in which Juien led teammates Joel Gapoz and Zurbriggen. They are the best team at the moment and are unbeatable, said Andreas Wenzel, the Liechtenstein veteran who finished fifth. Most skiers conceded that the Swiss could have had a tougher task if U S, twins Phil and Steve Mahre and Swedish superstar Ingemar Stenmark were competing here. However they are going to do extremely well against any opponent in the forthcoming World Cup and in the Olympics (at Sarajevo), said Sepp Messner, coach of the Italian team. The U.S. team and Stenmark did not compete in the first major international event of the season in order to continue training for the World Cup which begins at Kranjska Gora, Yugoslavia, Dec. 1.
