The American girl, while she does not aspire to large muscles, or tte athletic records of boys, is comin forward in these days to demand as her right physical training that w:y send her out into life with an endo ment of health sufficient to meet it demands. Dr. D. A. Sargent, director of tt9 Harvard gymnasium, tells us that some twenty or thirty years ago he had occasion to make a physical ei amination of professional athletes "Nearly every one of these men," hj says, "who had become especially dii. tinguished, attributed his ability to his mother's fine physique." Witt out comment upon this unanswerab'e argument for the health education ot women, he adds another: "Althouji women constitute one-half of the h:-man h:-man race and are largely responsible, for its upbuilding, they have a ri2w to a health education for their owj sakes."
