Show WAR CONFERENCE HELDJ PARIS BRITISH CABINET WAR COMMITTEE COMMIT-TEE CONFERS WITH THE FRENCH GOVERNMENT Marks Important Development in Policy of Co-ordination Among Entente Powers as Announced by Premier Asquith. Paris The first meeting of the joint Anglo-French war council was held here Wednesday afternoon. Those taking part were Premier Asquith, A. J. Balfour, first lord of the admiralty; David Uoyd-George, minister of munitions, muni-tions, and Sir Edward Grey, secretary of foreign affairs of the British cabinet, cab-inet, and Premier Briand, General Gal-lieni, Gal-lieni, minister of war, and Admiral Lacaze, minister of marine of the French cabinet, and General Joffre, the French commander in chief. IThe four British jninisters 'on arriving ar-riving in Paris w ere met by Premier Briand, who gave a luncheon and reception re-ception in their honor before the holding hold-ing of the war council. It is generally assumed that the presence in France of the men who are charged with the responsibility of conducting the war for Great Britain marks an important development in the policy of co-odination among the entente powers as announced by Pre-mier Pre-mier Asquith in his recent speech before be-fore the house of commons. |
