Show EMERY Funeral services were held over the remains of Bro. Niels Jensen last Friday. Fri-day. He was born in Denmark February 17, 1844. In 1868 he married Anna Christena Jensen. Bro. Jensen embraced em-braced the Gospel in 1880 and emigrated to Utah two years later with his wife and five children. Their union was blessed with twelve children, seven of whom still live to mourn his loss with their mother. Bro. Jensen and family located in Fountain Green the first summer they were in Utah, and moved from there to Molen, Emery county, where they lived seven years. The rest of his life was spent in Emery. He was a well respected respect-ed citizen and a man who labored hard for the improvement and beautifying of his home, as well as a kind and loving husband and father. At his funeral tnere was a large attendance at-tendance and many good things were said of Bro. Jensen, also many words of comfort and encouragement to the bereaved. Last Friday night the four months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ammon died. The little one had been ill many days and suffered much. The remains were laid to rest Sunday. Arthur, the-four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Petty, also the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Pari Beal, have been very sick the past few days. They are on the improve now and we hope they will soon be well. Mrs. Jensen and children wish to extend ex-tend their thanks to the people of Emery who helped them in the long illness and death of their husband and father. HIAWATHA" That Hiawatha is growing is evidenced by the number of Dew buildings that have recently been constructed. 150 workmen were laid off this week, but we think it will not be for long. The dance held in the boarding house on Valentine night was enjoved by all. j A baby girl weighing twelve and one- j half pounds was born to Mr. and Mrs. j Haycock a few days ago. All concerned ! are doing nicely. ! i CLEVELAND j . j Mrs. John Neilson presented her hus- band with a bouncing baby girl, all con- cerned doing nicely. The Dramatic company's presentation j of the play "Strife" was a success in every respect, giving excellent satisfaction satis-faction and netting a neat little sum for the fire sufferers. The beginners department of our school under the direction of Miss Mc-Kee Mc-Kee gave a dramatized reading of Hiawatha Hia-watha and Cinderella last Friday evening, even-ing, they were all suitably costumed. Their excellent rendiation of these popular pop-ular pieces reflects great credit on Miss McKee for the careful painstaking way in which she has trained them. A son came to gladden the hearts of Mr. and Mrs. B. Erickson. All getting along nicely. Bishop Larson made a hurried busi-, ness trip to Sunnyside this week Ernest Davis is giving his hall the finishing touches, painting both interior and exteribr, also laying his new maple floor. Work is progressing1 nicely on the rebuilding re-building of the Christensen home. PERRON There has been a great deal of sickness sick-ness here during the last two weeks, most of which has been pneumonia, colds, etc. As a result the district school attendance is usually low. The Presbyterian school now occupies : a part of the new building. The stork recently visited the homes of Clarence Lemon, a girl; Oscar Nelson, Nel-son, a girl; Albert Williams, a boy. Mervin E. Lowry, who has been visiting visit-ing with his folks, returned to Price Friday. D. A. Lowry left Monday for the metropolis, whese he will promote the business of the spring wheel recently re-cently invented by his son. The four weeks old son of Mrs. Ed Rappley died Tuesday. |
