Show Significance In Names. In an Illinois town a worklngman having been informed that a sixth baby had arrived at his home, exclaimed: ex-claimed: "Sufficient." and his neighbors, neigh-bors, referring to his having given that name Sufficient to the new arrival, credited him with originality. The incident resembles a case nearer home, adds the New York Tribune. A New York family was blessed with nine daughters, when the stork brought a tenth one. It was in the days when the slang term for an oft-told oft-told story was a "chestnut," and as the baby certainly came under that head she received the name, but for suphony's sake the French for the word was employed, and she was called Marron. |
