Show DEATH CLAIMS ONE OF BEST CITIZENS Castledale has been fairly free of visits vis-its from the Grim Reaper of late until last Wednesday, when he again stalked intj our midst and took from us one of the leading men and the head to one of our most respected families. M. A. Anderson, the pioneer builder, mechanic, merchant and citizen, passed this life Wednesday morning after but a short attack of about ten days, of n old trouble, Brights disease. Funeral services were held" yesterday at the residence, it having been his expressed ex-pressed desire, it is understood, they be held there. Ex-bishop John Y. Jensen conducted the services and the ward choir ren ered several beautiful selections. selec-tions. Elders A. E. Wall, A. G. Jewk-es, Jewk-es, Jr., O. Sorenson, Boyd Peterson, and John Y. Jensen all spoke glowingly of the manly and upright life and character char-acter of the deceased incorporating in their remarks, comforting words to the bereaved ones and assurances of the all wise Power robbing us of this beloved one. Elders I .W. Behunin and P. P. Childs offered the invocation and benediction bene-diction respectively. Martin Adolph Anderse was born in Denmark, Sept. 30, 1859, the son of Paul Christian and Mary Mortensen Andersen. Ander-sen. Preceding his parents to this country coun-try a few year he emigrated from Denmark Den-mark in 1873, and settled in Fountain Green, Sanpete county, later coming to Castledale. As a contractor and builder, Mr. Anderson And-erson enjoyed statewide notoriety, the beautiful new home of the Emery stak Academy being but one of the magnif-cent magnif-cent monuments to his ingenuity and o-riginal o-riginal cleverness. He had lately entered enter-ed the hardware and mercantile business busi-ness and bade fair of making a big success suc-cess of it. . J He leaves a mother, Mrs. Hansen.re- j cently removed to Bonela; a son, Martin, Mar-tin, Jr.; and four daughters, viz., Mrs. Ostler of Mercur, Mrs. Tidwell of Lynn Junction, and Mrs. Howarth and Miss Ida of Castledale, besides the sorrowing wife and a number of other relatives to j mourn a deep loss. |
